#NoirvemberChallenge Film noir you wish more people saw GUN CRAZY inevitably draws comparisons to BONNIE & CLYDE, but give me GC any day.
Just watched GUN CRAZY (1950), a well-done, low-budget #noir about a gun-obsessed couple’s reckless, criminal lives on the road. Love the way this is filmed. I honestly think it’s superior to BONNIE & CLYDE (1967). #FilmTwitter #FilmNoir #crime #suspense #TCM

First watch: MONSIEUR HULOT'S HOLIDAY (1953, re-edited 1978) This film made me feel nostalgic for a place I've never been, a quaint French seaside vacation spot where I could easily spend a week (or month). It's plotless really, but it's enough just to watch... #FilmTwitter 1/4

...beachgoers. I read that the Hôtel de la Plage, featured in the film, is still there in the Saint-Marc-sur-Mer community. I like to imagine the film's characters returning every summer. MONSIEUR HULOT'S HOLIDAY was the introduction of the Mr. Hulot character, featured... 3/4

... in three other films. I've seen the second installment (MON ONCLE, 1958, very good) but not yet PLAYTIME (1967) or TRAFIC (1971). It pokes fun at rigid summer social rituals, but it does so with warmth rather than disdain. I found it quite endearing.

#NoirvemberChallenge A favorite newspaper film #noir
#NowWatching Los Tallos Amargos (The Bitter Stems) a riveting 1956 #FilmNoir from Argentina. Love the way it’s filmed! Things go terribly wrong when a frustrated newspaper man and shady partner set up a bogus correspondence course in journalism. #FilmTwitter #noir #ClassicMovies

LET’S DO THIS, AMERICA!! We can be a better nation despite the efforts of tyrants to suppress our votes and hold us back. Let’s elect lawmakers who celebrate diversity rather than trying to crush it. Let’s live up to the ideals of “liberty and justice for all.” #VoteBlue

Rewatching MIDNIGHT COWBOY (1969) absolutely confirmed for me that it's one of my top 5 films of all time. Not a frame is wasted from the time naive Joe Buck (Jon Voight) leaves Texas to become a New York City hustler until he rides a bus to Florida with the... #FilmTwitter 1/5

The soundtrack is extraordinary, with Nilsson's EVERYBODY'S TALKIN' becoming a top 10 US hit. Director John Schlesinger made one of the great American films with MIDNIGHT COWBOY, which won Oscars for Best Picture, Director and Screenplay (based on James Leo Herlihy's novel). 5/5
