Growth comes from overcoming friction. This is both philosophically and physiologically congruent. To grow muscle, you must increasingly integrate mechanical tension and do it frequently. To grow oneself, one must overcome tension, solve problems, and do it consistently. Sets × Reps × Load = Experience

FIGHT READY - SNEAK PEAK How you evaluate a fight shapes what happens next. An excerpt from Fight Ready: Combat Sports Performance Manual: “Post-fight reflection should be objective, structured, and delayed just enough to allow emotions to settle. Immediate reactions are often influenced by adrenaline, fatigue, and outcome bias. While those emotions are valid, meaningful analysis requires a calmer perspective that separates effort from execution and preparation from result.” A win can hide weaknesses. A loss can overshadow progress. Give yourself time, then review honestly: What worked? Where did preparation fall short? What needs to change before the next camp? That’s how you turn experience into a better plan. Pre-order the Fight Ready manual + workbook and get access to our December 8 live webinar and Q&A, where we’ll break down how to apply these principles. 👉 Pre-order here: phildaru.com/fight-ready

I'm a big believer that your feet can do amazing things for your balance and proprioception if you train them. Too much padding between you and the ground can impair your body's ability to know where it is in space. Minimalist shoes have a place, but if you're moving from regular padded shoes to barefoot shoes, take your time and build resilience in your feet first.

If traveling on the wrong road is solidified early and the goal is to get to the destination the fastest. Then performing an about turn to get back to the right road is the most progressive action you can pursue. Sometimes it's wise to take 1 step back to move 3 steps forward in the right direction.

Fencing posture is an unmistakable sign of concussion Unlike subjective symptoms, which is how most athletes come to the attention of the medical team, signs of concussion, such as loss of consciousness, fencing, posture, headshaking should not be ignored🤕 @M2MMAofficial @ChrisNowinski1 @OrthoColumbia @DaruStrong @JohnMcCarthyMMA @contrariansmind @cccannon10 @proscope101 @BrianSuttererMD @txsportsdoc @drcharliepopkin

Proud to announce that I’ve joined the @M2MMAofficial Advisory Board. My career has been built on preparing athletes for the demands of competition from developing fighters to world champions. That experience has taught me that every training decision needs a purpose, and every advancement needs to prove its value in practice. With M2MMA, I’ll be advising on performance methodology, athlete testing, and readiness, while helping connect that work to coaches, gyms, and fighters. My focus is bringing practical coaching experience together with meaningful data to improve how we assess, prepare, and develop combat athletes. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the sport that has shaped my life. Let’s get to work. @contrariansmind @cccannon10 @UFCPI @JohnMcCarthyMMA
