Hey all.
If you know me, you know I don't post these sorts of posts very often, but well, things are getting kinda tight and I kinda need to get this off my chest.
As some of you know, three months ago, I was laid off.
Not being someone to take these sorts of things sitting down, I got to work setting up my own little shingle.
I told myself I'd apply for new jobs while also trying to start something and see which one takes off first.
And I've been doing that, in both areas.
Unfortunately though, in the months since, neither have taken off—at least in a near term, which has caught me by surprise.
Sure, I've been building great relationships and the foundation for some great content, but unfortunately that's not paying the bills in the short term.
And frankly, after getting my last two roles based on the network and relationships built on here, it's been hard to come to terms with getting little to no traction now.
Which brings me to the bottom line of why I'm posting...
In short, I'm the primary breadwinner for my family and things are getting tight.
I need a win.
Today's my birthday so I figured why not just come out and ask for help.
If you or someone you know needs an experienced agency/services marketer, I'd love an opportunity to chat with them.
Whether a win comes in the form of a job opportunity or a consulting/freelance gig, I'm not picky.
So if you are somebody with a need in this area would you reach out or if you know someone would I could help, would you make an intro?
It would mean the world to me.

Assuming a real underlying conversion rate of 6% (i.e. assuming the test doesn't really make any difference), you'd see an 8% conversion rate about 30% of the time at this stage. The 0% conversion rate for the control is more unusual, but you'd still see it about 1%

New paper shows how powerful left-digit bias in prices is: for example, we unconsciously think of a product priced at $4.99 as $.20 cheaper than one priced at $5.00.
Retailers underestimate how well the trick works, losing up to 4% of profits by not ending every price with .99!

Despite a drop in previous years, stop and search is on the rise again, after @pritipatel announced an expansion of 'no suspicion' searches to tackle the knife crime epidemic.

Today, my dad cried over the phone, he wanted one week where he could use his computer without my help.
He's blind.

The world has a massive sameness problem. Like ridiculously huge.
It's one of the key obstacles for most companies. Most are working in incremental improvements instead of differentiation. Becuase it's hard. It involves risk and changes, venturing into the unkown.
