Everton have had very few over the years but West Ham even beat their record!
When you go to Germany and see your team win their first ever European trophy, it feels pretty damned good.
Thanks a lot to Oliver Glasner for making our wildest dreams come true. Bring on the next chapter.

Secured my ticket for CPFC's final in Leipzig within hours of the arrival of the new version of Motörhead’s ‘Kiss Of Death’, for which I was honoured to write the sleeve essay. It feels like Christmas morning! 🤘
My favourite 'new' group of the moment. If you haven't heard 'em yet... bloody well sort it aaaaht!!!

Amanda Seyfried tipsy on Letterman: 'Liquid courage' for stage fright😰 Admitting drinks from age 12 to sober at 33💀 This raw honesty hits different — drop your 'nerves fix' story!
And so we say goodbye to 2025. What a sensational year for my football club. It’s highly unlikely to be repeated, but at least I got to live it once.

Here's my recent piece on UFO's album 'No Place To Run'. It was great to natter to Phil Mogg and Andy Parker, with posthumous comments from a certain bass player. “Fucking Pete Way. Unbelievable,” Mogg mutters. “It feels like he’s still here, taunting me." loudersound.com/bands-artist…
Ended the day with a charming Zoom call to Bonnie Raitt. With her camera switched off, I assumed we were doing 'audio-only'. At the end, Bonnie remarked how nice it was to see my smiling face. I was mortified… I had been trimming my split ends. Thank God I didn’t pick my nose!
Among the biggest thrills of my career was meeting and interviewing Steve Hillage on several occasions. Here's one from back in 2007, and yes, his man cave really *was* like Doc Brown's workshop in Back To The Future.

It's unfathomable to consider that Bon Scott died *forty-five* years ago today. 📷 I was too young to have met the great man, sadly, though I was privileged to see him sing onstage - just once. Maybe the best three quid I ever spent (with The Pirates as support).
One of my all time fave stories wot I wrote 🤣. A crazy-but-true rock ‘n’ roll yarn, as related over a few beers back in 2004.

Eight years have passed but I will never forget the shock and sadness I felt at 3.08pm when the email from Quo's publicist arrived: 'Rick Parfitt 1948-2016'. Christmas Eve won't be the same again.
Oh, and happy birthday Lemmy. I hope you have a few sherberts with Ricky. 😢
A lovely photo of so many great people, taken a few days back outside the Cart & Horses at the wake of Paul Di'Anno. Tino’s death metal face is a picture!
Off shortly to Hammersmith to say goodbye to Sepultura. Having been at the Marquee Club for their debut UK show back in 1989, when they blew Sodom off the stage, through the doors and out onto Charing Cross Road, it's going to feel a bit like the wheel turning full circle.
Very classy from Bruce. "If you're listening, this is a little message from Minneapolis to wherever you are, upstairs or downstairs, Minneapolis, for Paul Di'Anno, scream for me."
