Two skills that are incredibly rare: (1) Doing what you say you will do (be reliable) (2) Keeping track of yourself If all you do is be reliable and keep track of yourself, you will be indispensable to any company.

Most of my life is devoted to data, research & progress on climate change. But it's a field I nearly walked away from when I was younger. I was hopeless that anything could change. That's why I'm convinced we need a new narrative. My article in @WIRED: wired.co.uk/article/climate-…

Klimaschutz ist keine „Ideologie“. Wer es so sieht hat vieles nicht verstanden. Wir müssen Klimaschutz als wissenschaftliche Notwendigkeit sehen. Nicht als Parteipolitik.

Instead of the 100,000th dystopian sci-fi novel it'd be a fantastic project for a writer to bring this future to life. A novel based on the statistical figures of what the IPCC think is possible and filled with life to help us imagine what that future would look and feel like.
The IPCC climate reports rely on scenarios of how the world will change in the coming decades. This is the IPCC's description of the 'Sustainability Scenario'. What does the IPCC assume for economic growth here? Global GDP per capita increases to over $80,000 per person.

Just ten years ago electricity from solar was far more expensive than alternatives. But – as the chart shows – the price declined by 89% since then. How was this possible? And which opportunities does this open up? → This is what my post is about: ourworldindata.org/cheap-ren…

In today's On Tech: I wrote about JustWatch, my fav streaming buddy. It answers a surprisingly hard question: Where can I watch a given show or movie online? This is a low-stakes problem, yes. JustWatch (mostly) solves a tiny problem. That’s great. nytimes.com/2021/02/24/techn…
