Nancy Pelosi, who is regularly hammered for her perceived insider trading, has made 213 total trades since 2014. Trump exceeded that number in a single day, which just happened to precede his own tariffs announcement. My latest on the mind boggling self-enrichment:
Here’s @NYCMayor’s statement on COPA passing yesterday:
“COPA puts the power in the hands of tenants and community organizations”
The City Council is set to pass the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act today
COPA will give nonprofits (including community land trusts) first dibs on buying some apartment buildings with dangerous conditions and/or financial problems

Gotta trust him on horses. Famously a Stable genius
So sad to see the beloved Central Park Horse-drawn Carriage Industry ending after over a Century, based largely on one tragic accident. When there is a car accident in the area, of which there are many, they don’t stop cars from entering the Park. So why would they stop the Carriages? It was a Great Tradition. Another piece of History that’s gone. It will be missed! President DONALD J. TRUMP

NYC immigration advocates have set up an "altar" for people shot by ICE.
It's outside a Flatbush apartment building where they say a Haitian man, Roberto Lamour, was recently arrested by ICE.
It’s fair to say the very first segment is “gripping”
Listen to Serial's new show, "METRO with Sarah Koenig," that tells stories about New York City and its most fascinating raw material: New Yorkers.

Versions of the legislation date back to 2020
It has been modified to apply to a specific set of buildings: ~2,100 properties could be COPA-eligible if sold, according to NYC's Dept of Housing Preservation and Development
I first covered COPA in 2022

Ulrich posting this during a break in his bribery trial.
During trial proceedings earlier, the judge said someone had called to get info on how to write to the court to thank Ulrich for being an organ donor. The judge said he wouldn't read the letter to avoid being prejudiced.

How far are you willing to go for your chance at the American Dream? Since the completion of I-80 in the 1970s, generations of New Yorkers have decamped to the Poconos, transforming a cluster of towns & enduring 3hr roundtrip commutes to their jobs in NYC. thecityreporter.nyc/2026/10/…
But a spokesperson for the Manhattan DA says they do not plan to call Eric Adams to testify in the case against his former adviser and buildings commissioner

Ulrich's attorney told a Manhattan judge that some recorded phone conversations between Ulrich and the other defendants will sound bad
more specifically:
"At times, it will sound like 1950s, misogynistic, unpolitically correct, locker room talk"
