This Saturday myself and the entire family will be at Nats Park. Let me know if you'll be there.

You look at all the poor starving NBA players and understand how a salary cap can never work. Basketball barely exists. All the players are too malnourished to play.
MLBPA interim executive director Bruce Meyer on MLB's proposal that would overhaul the offseason calendar and shrink most of free agency to a short window in December: "The league, through their propaganda arm, is promoting their latest set of roster and transaction proposals as player-friendly. "MLB expressly conditioned these proposals on the players’ agreement to a salary cap system, which would drastically reduce overall player compensation, eliminate fully guaranteed contracts through escrow, and turn back the clock on fundamental player rights. "Their latest proposals regarding free agency would eliminate Player rights by establishing an artificial free agency window, subject to a salary cap, which would reduce player leverage and create a game of musical chairs pitting player vs. player. "The suggestion that the only way to limit roster churn, or incentivize earlier Free Agent signings is with a salary cap is entirely unserious. Players have proposed changes that would address these priorities, but the league is not interested in any changes that don’t directly reduce the rights of all players and shift leverage to the owners."

It's kind of crazy that the Dodgers keep being sold to satisfy their owner's debt.

We can't have people gathering in our money launder...I mean place of business.
A normal Saturday quickly became hectic for the staff of Surge Adventure Park in Virginia Beach. According to a Surge spokesperson, employees had notified the Virginia Beach Police Department after a “large gathering” had begun to form at the business, which sits near Lynnhaven Mall. wavy.com/news/local-news/vir…

Taking out Irvin now is a Dave Martinez move.

I heard @GoogleMyBiz is actually responsive. About three weeks ago reviews started to disappear off my GBP. I submitted a ticket to Google. They restored some reviews. Immediately they disappeared again plus others. Sense I've submitted 2 followups w/ hand waving only response

2026. The Nationals are testing what it would be like if every pitcher were Jason Marquis.

I remember joking last off-season how the Nats were having a very Braves off-season and if they wanted to complete it they'd trade Abrams out west. Same holds with their Rays style off-season this year.
Matty V and Harold discuss the Giants after reports of them signing Harrison Bader and aggressively pursuing a trade for Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams. #MLBNHotStove

Public officials shouldn't be allowed to use AI. A bot arguing with a bot pretending to be public officials.
Your state has the 7th highest homicide rate in the nation — over double California’s. Spare us the grandstanding over “enforcing the law”— you’re a heartless fraud.

DOOCY: If he was disarmed, is it protocol to use deadly force? KRISTI NOEM: That's all part of this investigation. They clearly feared for their lives.

CNN is reporting like it's a sports replay, "Did the gun survive going to the ground."

I've seen three snuff films this year because of the President of the United States. I find that wild.

I just saw the video of Ice executing a man in Minnesota. I'd like to ask my rep @JenKiggans if she is ready to stop being a coward. It's time for all decent Americans to stand up to evil.

My big takeaway reading this is the Nats could sign Hoskins for $15 mil a year and everyone complain about the contract by June or they could skip that step and let this Ortiz kid play.
I know what you're thinking: man, I wish @spencernusbaum_ and Andrew had a story detailing what they've heard from talent evaluators across baseball about the prospects acquired in the MacKenzie Gore trade. Lucky for you, we came through: washingtonpost.com/sports/20…

AI really loves small quiet and unseen things.
I know it can feel like the world’s problems are too big. But real impact doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s quiet, small, and unseen—a kind word, a helping hand, or just showing up for someone. These little acts matter more than you realize.

It's weird trying to catch up on this app. It randomly unfollowed a bunch of people

Not being on the same page with your employees is always a good reason to move on.
Sources: Part of the issue the #Commanders have had in the building is the front office meddling with the coaching staff on personnel and which players to use — an ongoing problem dating back to 2024 when they were having success. With the team struggling this year, it reached new heights and there were notable disagreements. Moreover, I have not gotten the impression Dan Quinn wanted to move on from his coordinators. The entire disconnect is one to watch as we head into 2026. “There’s a lot of shit going on there,” a source said.

I know this is Toboni's first rodeo but I hope the Nats aren't making the same mistake this off-season as last. The bullpen needs to be addressed and this isn't an issue of spending. A relief pitcher isn't going to cost $25 mil AAV.

DC friends, I need your help. They opened a location of a place called The Grill down here. Has anyone eaten at the DC location and if so is it any good? Looking for a place for our anniversary dinner and debating this place.
