The real learning loss from the pandemic has been social and emotional skills. Such as making and maintaining friendships, participating in group projects, and regulation of emotions. Students need unstructured play, recess, and group interaction more than ever.

States are passing education bills that prohibit teachers from discussing CURRENT EVENTS with students.
Would teachers be punished if they provided a space for students to share their thoughts and feelings about what happened at a school while they are, in fact, at school?

1) roll up their sleeves to help
2) Really Listen
3) Who are present: in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, lunchroom
4) Value Teachers time (planning, meetings, after school)
5) Support/encourage them

New Georgia law requires school districts to have recess for students from kindergarten to fifth grade and will go into effect next school year.
Under the law, schools will not be able to withhold recess from students for disciplinary or academic reasons.

In 2018, those numbers were at 4.6%! 😮
Current numbers are at 3.3%! 😨
Instead of figuring out why and doing something about it, states and districts are lowering the requirements for becoming a teacher. 🙄😕😡
