This morning I announced I was continuing to buy energy B plc shares as Chairman. Why? Because to me - now that the Company has a path to 100% of the Gatwick Energy Site for £1.2m and we now have big family office support, I want more. Historic oil from HH-1 of 211,000 barrels of top quality oil and 20 million cubic feet of gas #NRGB aquis.eu/stock-exchange/anno…

To buy the Gatwick Energy Site for £1.2m when it has had £40m spent on it in the last decade is a real coupe for energy B plc. energybplc.com/templates/reg…. Our market cap is only just above £2m and the board - of which I Chair - are very excited about the way things are going. #NRGB #London #oil #gas #UKenergyindependence

55% of Britons back the government's decision to approve gas extraction from the Jackdaw gas field in the North Sea Support: 55% Oppose: 18%

Indeed.
When global gas prices spike, working people here pay the price. Jackdaw will help keep millions of homes warm this winter. We're keeping our promise of no new licences and launching an Energy Wealth Fund to reinvest North Sea revenues in clean, homegrown power.

The UK does need to be energy self sufficient. When the North Sea was in full swing decades ago the UK economy was world leading.
This will be difficult to read for some, but given the geopolitical situation we're in, the government's decision to approve drilling at the Jackdaw gas field is the right one. Here's why ⬇️ Wholesale gas prices have reached a four-year high. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has shown again how quickly global supply can be disrupted, and how exposed we are when we depend on other people's gas. After Russia invaded Ukraine, it was families here at home who felt the cost. With the Strait of Hormuz blocked, the pressure on global energy supplies is only getting worse. We'll need gas for years yet. No economist, minister or energy specialist will deny that. The climate concerns are real too, and I agree that new fields cannot become an excuse to slow down on renewable energy. But a credible transition needs a secure pathway to get there. *Security of supply is not the opposite of net zero.* And here's the environmental contradiction: gas that is liquefied, shipped across the sea and then turned back into gas at home has around *three times the production and transport emissions of gas from the North Sea. An insane practice!* The choice being made now, and it's the right choice, is whether more of the gas we need is produced here, by British workers on proper wages and with lower production emissions than imported LNG, or shipped in from overseas. Leaving our own gas in the ground while importing gas doesn't help the planet. It risks simply moving the jobs, the tax revenue and the emissions somewhere else. 🙄 This is a Labour argument. Our movement was built by people who did the hard graft that kept this country going. We often criticise Thatcher for destroying the mining and steel industries. We need to be careful not to do the same to a critical industry in the midst of a dangerous geopolitical moment. I know what the North Sea means to the workers and families who have built their lives on this industry. In my view, a proper transition away from oil and gas means the jobs of tomorrow should arrive before the jobs of today disappear. It also means being realistic about the speed of transition and making sure the skills built in offshore oil and gas are carried over into renewables, rather than written off. This must be done carefully, balancing energy security with the development of alternative sources of energy. In the more dangerous world in which we live today, *energy security is national security.* Diversifying our energy supply builds resilience, reduces our vulnerability and makes us more independent. Today's decision recognises that.

This is a sound and positive initiative by the UK Government today. Jackdaw has an incredible amount of home grown gas and benefits the UK in so many ways. Energy security + jobs + revenue + taxes +++! Every cubic feet of gas not imported into the UK helps Britain and its people.
Energy Secretary @Miatsf has agreed that the regulator can grant consent for gas to be produced at the licensed Jackdaw field. Gas from Jackdaw is expected to start reaching British homes and businesses as early as the end of this month.

It will be there. Havieron goes to the centre of the earth and the Breccia gets bigger.
Like to see at least one underground drill to test the Havieron system at 1600-1800 metres depth before I shed my mortal coil and to see if Mr Day’s 20 million Au ounces is a distinct possibility- not that I’ll see it but it would be nice to know. Let’s have a whip round 😊

Another great set of results from our neighbour at peak hills. Must read thread by @GreatBoulder Peak hills is showing mineralisation across the board..and in good grades/depths. Now it's over to @ForgentPlc to show what they have in their half of peak hills. #forg
The more we drill at #PeakHill, the clearer the opportunity becomes! What started with strong results from Jubilee, Golden Treasure and Durack is now being reinforced at Enigma and Five Ways.
