Howie Keene scores 23 points as Woodlands (Texas) defeats @kahokmenshoops 60-57 in the quarterfinals of the @ClassicTorny. Keene helped defeat his dad's high school team. Richard and other Keene family members were in the stands. #618hoops

Feels strange being at the @ClassicTorny and not working. Not sure I like it. But it's good to see the people and the competition. #618hoops

.@IlliniMBB coverage is in great hands with @mrwagner25, @srrichey and @JWerner247. Enjoyed their tweets all through that tough victory over Wisconsin.

It's going to be a @QHSBASKETBALL vs. @kahokmenshoops championship game Friday in the @ClassicTorny. This seems to be what most people wanted. It should be an unbelievable game between two of the most successful programs in the country. #618hoops

Missing all the cold chocolate milk on press row at the @ClassicTorny. No one served it up better than Clay Smith @ClaySmi33713609. 39th edition of the legendary tournament has hit full speed. #618hoops

Only two of the #618football teams advance in the playoffs: East St. Louis and Roxana. Edwardsville, Central, Mater Dei, Highland, Nashville and Althoff were defeated. All #618football teams were on the road. Tough assignments this deep in the postseason.

I know my former co-workers have been asked: What do you miss most about covering sports, especially at the prep level? For me, it's the people. There are so many great folks out there that I got to know well. Talking to them and the athletes was always a pleasure. It's a void.

.@OTHS_Soccer will play @kahokmensfutbol in the Class 3A sectional semifinals Tuesday. Panthers survive 1-0 against @BTHSEastLancers to win Belleville West Regional crown. #618soccer

Adam Wainwright has been the gold standard in St. Louis for so many years. I was fortunate to cover him for a few seasons. What a class act and it's great to see him enjoy a day like this. #STLCards

St. Dominic @SDAll_In reeled off its third win of the season Friday with a 42-14 decision over Mascoutah @MHSIndianFB. Crusaders could go a long way in Class 5 after finishing second in Class 4 last season. prepsportsstl.com/2023/09/08… @StDominicHS @MHS19_ATHLETICS
