🕊️ “Od lo avdah tikvatenu…” “Our hope is not yet lost.” This isn’t just a song. It’s a declaration that survived exile, dispersion, and silence. Hatikvah began as a poem in 1878, written by Naftali Herz Imber. It became the soundtrack of a dream — sung long before the State of Israel existed, and officially adopted only in 2004. 🎶 It lived in the hearts of pioneers, Holocaust survivors, and generations of Jews who never stopped hoping. 💬 Herzl’s vision wasn’t just about creating a safe place for Jews — it was about returning to our indigenous homeland, from which we were expelled, yet never truly left. Zionism is about restoration — not displacement. This sheet music is part of the Treasure Troves collection curated by @DavidMatlow — a living archive of memory, resilience, and identity. 🙏 Thank you David for preserving this powerful reminder of who we are and why we sing. 📖 Read more: thecjn.ca/arts-culture/hatik… 🎯 Follow @DavidMatlow to explore the collection — #ProjectRocky #HerzlRetold #Hatikvah #Zionism #JewishHope #TreasureTroves

🕊️ A stamp from a country that never existed. 🌀 Postmarked West Refaim. Canceled in Nineveh. A postcard… that tells a deeper truth than most headlines. This “cinderella stamp” isn’t just a curiosity — it’s a reminder of Jonah’s struggle with justice, forgiveness, and the human condition. And maybe, like Jonah, we too resist to what we must do. 💬 “Herzl’s vision wasn’t just about creating a safe place for Jews — it was about returning to our indigenous homeland, from which we were expelled, yet never truly left. Zionism is about restoration.” This is one of the countless treasures curated by @DavidMatlow — artifacts that speak, challenge, and inspire. 🌐 Read the full article: thecjn.ca/arts-culture/treas… 🙏 Thank you David for preserving and sharing these stories. 🎯 Follow him and explore more at: thecjn.ca/author/davidmatlow… — #ProjectRocky #HerzlRetold @DavidMatlow
