If Cleverly gets more that 15% of the Mayoral vote in London, he'll be doing well.
Most Londoners remember @JamesCleverly as a sneering, arrogant, right-wing stooge and another useful idiot for Putin.
No thanks.
Has Brexit been good for London?

Any plan for lasting peace in Europe must address Russia’s military grip on Belarus.
Even after the guns fall silent in 🇺🇦, that threat could remain. Belarus must not become Putin’s consolation prize.
We must be free to choose our own future, without Russian interference.

The UK is a vital partner for European security.
With Defence Secretary @wesstreeting, we held our Foreign and Security Policy Dialogue in Brussels.
Our Security and Defence Partnership is delivering. We are working together to counter hybrid threats and foreign information manipulation, and our close cooperation on sanctions continues.
At the EU-UK Summit in two weeks, we will take next steps.

Precisamos falar sobre Claudia Sheinbaum. 🇲🇽
• Mais que dobrou o salário mínimo desde 2018
• Reduziu os homicídios em quase 50%
• Fechou o primeiro ano com 69% de aprovação
• Aprovou a redução da jornada de 48 para 40 horas semanais
She seems to have the right values, this President.

The European Union, as we know it today, was born 33 years ago. 🇪🇺
On 1 November 1993, the Maastricht Treaty entered into force, officially establishing the European Union and laying the foundations for closer political, economic and social integration.
Happy birthday, Europe!
Congratulations Mrs Sheinbaum.

This perfectly illustrates the nonsense that is the UK government’s position on Palestine Action.
In short, you can openly support Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, and probably the West Bank too, but face arrest if you voice support for those viscerally opposed to their murderous crimes.
A fucking joke.

That’s
65% Join the European Union
35% Stay out
When you remove don’t know, wouldn’t vote etc.
Commentators of course will charge (and fairly) that this may change a lot depending on clarifications and conditions of joining…
However, there’s no doubting that the country is shifting hugely in mood around our relationship with our European family- and there’s a large majority which doesn’t like the Brexit box that we are in.
New from @Ipsos_in_the_UK
How would you vote if there was a referendum on the UK applying to join the EU?
Should apply to join 56%
Should stay out 30%

Meloni Refuses to End Support for Ukraine: “I Understand I May Lose Votes, but I Will Not Change My Position.”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has made a firm statement amid growing debates over military assistance to Kyiv, rising living costs, and increased defense spending.
In an interview for journalist Bruno Vespa's new book, History of the Second Republic, scheduled for release on November 2, the Italian prime minister acknowledged that supporting Ukraine could cost her some voters.
“I fully understand that our support for Ukraine may come at a political cost. That even among our own voters, there are people who disagree with it. But I have no intention of changing my position.”
Meloni emphasized that her decisions are guided primarily by Italy's national interests.
“I support Ukraine not simply for the sake of Ukrainians. I do it for Italy.”
According to Meloni, an international order in which military force alone determines what is right poses a serious threat to her country.
She urged people to consider the consequences of a possible Ukrainian defeat.
“If we had allowed Ukraine to be easily conquered, could we really be certain that Moscow would stop there rather than move further?”
Meloni also addressed the possibility of Russia attacking a NATO member state. In such a scenario, she explained, NATO allies would face a choice between responding militarily and effectively abandoning their collective defense commitments, potentially threatening the very existence of the Alliance.
“I support Ukraine because all the other scenarios are potentially even more frightening,” the prime minister stated.
She also praised the resistance of Ukrainian society, describing it as an expression of patriotism.
“There is a people, a history, an identity that refuse to be destroyed. I would call that patriotism. And as a woman of the political right, I cannot help but admire it.”
Her remarks come amid disagreements within Italy's governing coalition. Matteo Salvini, leader of the League party, has previously called for an end to further military and financial assistance to Ukraine, while Meloni continues to insist on supporting Kyiv.

"There is no other choice. If we want to avoid decades of instability and repeated wars in Europe, we must ensure that Ukraine wins this war and restores its full territorial integrity
Territorial integrity is not negotiable, and it cannot be treated as a bargaining chip in any future settlement.”

£1.25bn subsidy for Rolls-Royce to develop a new engine.
RR will keep assets and income streams.
RR had operating profit of £3.5bn in 2024-25, will pay £9bn to shareholders over next 3 years.
UK Govt won't take equity stake, £1.25bn not repayable.
