Thank you to New Zealand's High Commissioner to Fiji, H.E. Greg Andrews, for the conversation in Suva 🇫🇯.
New Zealand 🇳🇿 has been a partner to Pacific women through @UN_Women for many years, and we talked about strengthening that partnership and our work together in the region.

Leaving Fiji 🇫🇯 after three days, 20-plus conversations and one market.
A highlight: Wednesday's Talanoa in Nadi, where Hon. Ruth Cross Kwansing of Kiribati 🇰🇮 and Fiji's Hon. Lynda Tabuya set the tone, alongside DIVA for Equality and the amazing Noelene Nabulivou, SPREP DG Sefanaia Nawadra, SPC's Miles Young, UNDP Pacific's Munkhtuya (Tuya) Altangerel, and the many amazing young Pacific climate leaders that I had the honour to meet.
What I take with me: Pacific women are not asking to be included in climate action. They are already leading it and asking the rest of us to catch up with finance, decisions and partnerships that match.
Vinaka vakalevu to @unwomenpacific, to Fiji, Tuvalu and Australia as #PreCOP31 hosts, and to all who made time for talanoa.

The team behind the work.
Honoured to witness the presentation of the traditional sevusevu and to be welcomed into the @unwomenpacific office in Suva, by the colleagues who deliver UN Women's work across 14 Pacific countries and territories.
And for Fiji Day (10th Oct) too. Lovely to see the team in blue as the country celebrates. 🇫🇯 Happy Fiji Day!
Vinaka vakalevu, fa'afetai, ko rabwa, tanggio tumas and tankyu for everything you do.

Bula from Nadi! Pacific women are already leading climate action in their communities and across our region. At #PreCOP31, the message is simple: listen to them, invest in what’s working, and make sure climate finance reaches the people doing the work. #COP31 @unwomenpacific – at Fiji

Last month in Samoa, I presented awards to Sootino Taungakava and Grace Asaua, Merit Award winners in poetry, and to Vaimauga College, third place in song for "She Builds".
This week in Honiara: Roselyn Delmah, 1st place in song, and Regina Lepping, 3rd in poetry.
The response was extraordinary. More than 170 submissions from 12 Pacific countries, in spoken word, poetry and song. Women and girls, men and boys, shared what rights, justice and action mean to them.
Now we're meeting the winners. bit.ly/4ih2jxp
Gender equality doesn't only live in policies and frameworks. It lives in stories. In the words women choose. In the songs communities sing.
That's why @unwomenpacific launched #SayItLoud, asking people across the Pacific to tell us what equality means to them.
Congratulations to Roselyn Delmah and Regina Lepping, our #SayItLoud winners from the Solomon Islands. Thank you for trusting us with your stories and for saying it loud! 🇸🇧

After live performances of both winning pieces, Roselyn and Regina received their awards from @UNinFiji @DirkWagenerUN and UN Women Pacific Representative @DavidianAli.
