We’ve revised our demands (originally published Oct 2019) to reflect the changes at Davidson and in the world over the past 1.5 years. With the recent rise in anti-Asian hate crimes, we can no longer overlook the importance of teaching the history of Asian America.

Discussing this now —> a prime example of over generalizing & dismissing heterogeneity within-group. Dismissive, overlooking what’s said & hearing what the microaggressor wants to hear. @DavidsonCollege @DavidsonAAI

A microassault (assumption = “everyone who looks/is Asian is the same”) & microinsult (“I know you from somewhere! We have class together, hi!”) = insulting & acknowledging with possible good intentions, but impact matters far more over intentions. @DavidsonAAI @DavidsonCollege
