Some of you have already lost gigs you don't even know you had. 👀
Your cold DM got a response, but you fumbled the follow-up.
You don't know how to move the conversation forward, so you leave the client to do all the work.
The client is there to respond, not to drive the conversation for you.
Understanding this made me Excellent at pitching. 💯

Before you order a flyer, send your designer these 5 things:
1. Your text
2. Your logo
3. Your photos or images
4. The size you need
5. Your deadline
That way the designer doesn't have to guess, so the first draft will usually be much closer to what you want.

Visual hierarchy should be intentional❗
You should be able to determine what someone sees first, second and third when they look at your design.

I’ve never landed a single gig on Upwork.
When I started my journey, I deliberately stayed away from platforms like that because I didn’t want my entire income to depend on a third-party platform.
Instead I decided to build my presence on X because It's easier for people to connect with personal brands.
This year, I’ve landed multiple clients and roles through X and LinkedIn.
Now, I'm expanding and also working on owning my distribution by building my own email list because social media platforms can suspend your account, limit your reach, or disappear overnight.
You never want to build your entire business on "rented land".
Even my boss and friends in the US who freelance are getting tired of Upwork.
A lot of them are now resorting to building in public, sharing their work, and showing off their expertise to attract clients directly.
The money you have to spend on Upwork Connects is becoming ridiculous.
You're spending money just to apply for jobs, and you're competing with hundreds of other freelancers for the same opportunity.
At some point, you have to ask yourself, how much longer can you keep playing this game?
Honestly, you can't keep competing like this forever.

Earlier this year, I closed a $10k deal using cold emails.
And as someone who have gotten the vast majority of my clients from cold emails, here’s a strategy that works:
First, there are two ways of doing cold emails.
1: Automated
2: Manual (personalized)
If you have a lot of money, go for the automated using softwares like instantly or smartlead.
But if you’re a beginner, the second is what you should go for.
How’s how:
First create a new Gmail account
After that, spend two weeks warming it manually.
All you have to do is send emails to that Gmail, reply from it.
Do this everything for two weeks straight.
Now, you’re ready to send cold emails.
But it doesn’t end there, the next thing you want to do is to give that email a lil professional look.
And the easiest way to do this is to add an email signature.
Here’s. A video showing you how to: youtu.be/X4k77veybI0?si=CoQU…
Now there are two things left:
- Leads
- Offer
For the leads, I use a lady in Philippines Abi Pakistan. I pay her around $10 or less for 1k leads.
I give her the description of what I want and she scraps the list.
You can do this yourself using Apollo.
Or hire someone on fiverr like I do.
Now after getting the leads, you also want to verify it.
You can use a tool like million verifier. It’s affordable.
After verification, you might notice that only about 70% of those leads are good. That’s not too bad.
So we have a Gmail, we have leads.
Now we need an offer.
This is already getting too long, I might do a part two showing the next steps.
Just lmk in the comments!

When a brand shows interest, don't be too quick to mention your price.
Discuss value. Identify the things that might be costing them a lot and show them how you can help.
Don't just put “Brand Strategist” in your bio. Prove it through your conversations.
Let the brand understand your value before pricing comes into the picture.
Your clients are sensitive to how you respond during a conversation.

Myth: Posting more means selling more.
Reality: Posting clearer means selling more. Three clear posts a week beat ten confusing ones

If you offer three packages, customers usually pick the middle one. Put the one you want to sell most in the middle

One common reason some designers get more clients than others:
They show their work more. Clients can't hire a designer they have never seen.
So don't only get better at design. Let people see it too.

₦220,000 WAS STOLEN FROM MY FATHER'S ZENITH BANK ACCOUNT.
THREE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS WERE TARGETED. TWO STOPPED SUSPICIOUS TRANSACTIONS. ONE WENT THROUGH.
I'm honestly frustrated. But more than anything, I'm saddened by what has happened to my father.
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, at approximately 4:37 PM, my father became a victim of an unauthorised banking transaction.
₦220,000 was transferred out of his Zenith Bank account without his knowledge or approval, leaving him with a balance of just ₦6,874.96.
No OTP, no phone call, no chat, and no transaction initiated by him.
Just like that, a significant portion of his money was gone, transferred to an account he knows nothing about.
But what makes this incident even more disturbing is what happened before the money was taken.
This wasn't the first suspicious attempt.
The fraudsters apparently attempted to access his OPay account, but OPay stopped them.
They moved on to PalmPay. A transaction of ₦21,800 was attempted, but PalmPay eventually restricted it, preventing the transaction from going through.
Then came Zenith Bank.
This time, a transaction of ₦220,000 was successfully completed.
How did this happen?
How could such a significant transaction be completed without my father's knowledge or approval, especially when suspicious activities had apparently occurred across other financial platforms?
The transaction details are available. We need to know what is being done to investigate the destination of the money and identify those responsible.
My father shouldn't have to spend days moving from one office to another, chasing answers about money he never authorised anyone to take.

Most people scan a flyer. They don't read it.
So if your offer isn't clear in a couple of seconds, they'll move on.
Put the offer in the headline, keep the words few, and group the date, time and phone number together.

“X is dead”
- It doesn't work
- Not getting clients
- Zero DMs and inquires for months
- Showing up consistently and yet no sales
This list goes on and on, but let's chill here,
I've seen so many complains on different platforms,
X isn't excluded.
Despite all this complains about X, the algorithm, the results, is the platform is real or fake,
One thing never fails to amazed me, on this same platform,
• Many are signing high paying clients
• Growing and reaching the right audience
• Having the best impressions on their post
• Their community? Top notch and active daily
• Their pipeline never runs out of leads
Regardless of how the complain is, and the platform is being seen, one thing is always certain;
If you find a way instead of excuses, you'll always get the results you desired,
X works, your niche is good, you just need to test different strategies and approach,
then use the data as your unfair advantage and win better.
What's one false narrative you once believed about X?
