FYI, several militaries, governments & international agencies are preparing for food disruptions in 2027. Do with that what you will.

The truth is what matters & the truth is we are in a dire situation that needs urgent & transformative action & even then some bad things are baked in, but not even close to as bad as it can get. We don't need comforting stories, we need action.
Sorry, but this is absolute nonsense. The reason people haven’t acted on climate change is because the massive amount of disinformation being pumped out from most of the media that for decades has said it’s probably not true. The opposite is true. This woolly false hope forced positivity mentality is exactly why people don’t understand it’s the existential life-and-death-billions-of-us-at-risk crisis that it is. theguardian.com/environment/…

Not sure who needs to hear this, but the environment isn't the enemy. It's the only thing that has ever sustained life on the only planet that has life that we are aware of.

This is almost always the case with racism. Racism is a product of irrational fears. Once you actually begin interacting with the people you are scared of you very quickly understand that they are humans just like you.
Alberta referendum paradox: Communities most impacted by temporary residents voted NO on Questions 1–4. Less-affected communities voted YES. πŸ‘‡ Should rural Alberta residents with less "skin in the game" dictate policies whose consequences fall mainly on cities? #ableg #abpoli

More than this the politicians that push this fear know this fact absolutely. They are actually and factually grifters using your fear to enrich themselves.

Yes you have caught covid more than you have ever caught influenza. Yes you can get it multiple times a year. Yes there is still a risk that you will develop long COVID. Yes that KN95 will help, but
Nursing home unit has caught Covid twice in 2 months. Nurse who works there is in total disbelief: β€œHow many strains are circulating right now? Is this even really Covid?” β€œI’ve caught more Covid than flu in my entire life!” The nursing home tells staff to upgrade to N95s and she rolls her eyes: β€œI’m so mother f**king excited.” β€œDoesn’t this just look like a scary mother f**king ninja to the dementia patients?! Hello, I need to change you.” Then she rips the mask off her face, rolls her eyes, and makes an UGH 😣 face. Even after everything Covid has put her through, this is what it looks like when people will never wear masks again on their own initiative.

And I should add that no high quality masks aren't going to be 100% effective, but the more people that use them properly & with higher frequency the more effective it gets. Kind of like everything else in life.

Honestly as a healthcare worker you should have access to better masks that are easier to fit properly, but if that's not an option, learn how to use the ones you have.

This is strange. I was told the foreign countries pay the tariffs, so why would this help in the election?

This is interesting. Suggests that the immigration issue is mostly about what people hate (or have been conditioned to hate), and not about what actually impacts them.

Deep sea life in the Gulf of Mexico (not Gulf of America, Trump!) crashed by 60% following the Deepwater Horizon 4 million barrel oil spill, and 16 years later shows little sign of recovery, new research - based on thousands of samples - shows. e360.yale.edu/digest/deepwat…

Soooooo if Iran does even 1/2 of what they are saying they are going to do if the felon or the genocidaire attacks them again it's going lead to a deep lasting global crisis.

Really, really, really not a fan of the way CBE grades now & especially the way "outcomes" are used to create percentages. LOOOOOOTS of error introduced. Two students with fundamentally the same competency could end up with a large difference in final grades.

There are a handful of G20 countries that are very close to having a crisis similar to what happened in Greece in 2015. Maybe 4-5 of them. 😬 There are a couple that I think would come out of left field for a lot of people. We certainly aren't lacking for interesting times.
