Imagine being so detached from ordinary people that you sneer at them for owning dogs, supporting a football team and enjoying a Sunday roast. The fact that you use these things to mock Reform and Restore voters says far more about your own contempt for people who disagree with you than it does about them. This is the same smug, patronising attitude that alienates voters in the first place. People are fed up with being lectured by people who look down on them, their values and their pride in their country. You don't get to define what being British means, and you certainly don't get to sneer at millions of people for exercising their democratic right to vote. Perhaps the reason these voters are turning away from the political establishment is precisely because of attitudes like yours.
