🎙 Tomorrow: Privacy in the Age of AI, live with @The_HatedOne_
As part of Cyber October, we’re hosting a conversation with The Hated One, whose video essays explore how we’re tracked online, how our personal data is used, and what we can do to protect our privacy.
Technology keeps evolving. Is our approach to privacy keeping up?
Together, we’ll explore how modern technology, especially AI, is changing our privacy - and what we can do about it.
🔹 How are privacy risks changing as AI becomes part of everyday life?
🔹 How did so much of our digital lives come under the control of others?
🔹 How can we protect our privacy and reclaim ownership of our digital lives?
Come listen, hear different perspectives, and discover practical steps you can take in your own digital life.

🎙 Voice of DeNet: Applications Extended
Make videos, write articles, or turn complex ideas into clear posts? Help people discover DeNet - its protocol, decentralized storage, and the people who power its ecosystem.
Applications for the Voice of DeNet creator contest are now open until October 25.
How it works:
1. Apply with examples of your work.
2. If selected, receive the full brief by email.
3. Create and publish by November 5.
🏆 Win Datakeeper Licenses and in-app Watcher Node rewards, with a chance to become an official DeNet creator. Every selected creator whose submission passes the quality review earns a reward based on their score.
DeNet will evaluate the entries, and the community will vote for its favorites. Results arrive in late November.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and at DeNet, we're using it to encourage safer digital habits and help people keep their data secure, private, and under their control.
As part of our Cyber October campaign, you can get guaranteed weekly Mystery Boxes for protecting your data and collect tickets by completing campaign activities. Each ticket gives you a chance to win a prize in the Grand Reward at the end of October.
🔐 How safe is your data?
Your photos, documents, and backups hold more than files - they hold things you can’t always replace. What puts them at risk, and how can you protect them?
Explore our new Cyber October lesson to learn how to keep your data safe and how DeNet protects the files you back up.
🎟 Complete the lesson to get 1 extra ticket.

Like any storage service, keeping your data stored and accessible requires covering the storage costs. The difference is that your data is stored across a decentralized network, where Datakeepers provide storage space, and users pay for the space they use.
Different services suit different needs. DeNet Storage is built for those who want to protect their data from unauthorized access, maintain control over their files, and avoid relying on a single point of failure.
If by “mining” you mean the Watcher Node, you can learn more about its role and rewards here: medium.com/denetpro/denet-wa…

Users can store virtually any type of file with DeNet. You can also enable Auto Backup on your device to automatically protect your files.
As for long-term accessibility, DeNet doesn't rely on a single company or data center. Files are encrypted, split into parts, and distributed across independent Datakeepers in a decentralized network. This reduces single points of failure, while on-chain verification helps ensure data integrity.
Storage is powered by GAS, which is consumed based on how much data you store and for how long. For example, 1,200 GAS lets you store 1 TB for 1 year or 100 GB for 10 years. You can always top up your GAS balance to extend your storage duration.
Just a small glimpse of what people would save with DeNet 💛
Different things, same reason: they wouldn't want to wake up one day and find they have no access to them.

Security in everyday situations: travel ✈️
Travel puts your digital habits to the test: unfamiliar networks, shared chargers, devices that can be lost or stolen. A few minutes of preparation can save you a lot of trouble.
– Turn on 2FA, preferably with an authenticator app. SMS codes may be harder to receive when travelling abroad.
– Update your devices and apps before travelling.
– Be careful with public Wi-Fi. Fake hotspots can imitate legitimate networks in airports and hotels. Prefer mobile data or an eSIM when possible.
– Use a VPN on public Wi-Fi. It encrypts your connection, making it harder for others on the same network to monitor your online activity.
– Bring your own charger and avoid unfamiliar public USB ports.
– Back up your files so a lost or stolen device doesn't mean losing your data, too.
Thanks to our #DeNetCyberOctober partner @thevpncompany for the tips on travel and online security! Their VPN service encrypts your connection, masks your IP, and follows an independently audited no-logs policy. One Premium account covers up to 10 devices simultaneously.
DeNet protects your data. hide.me protects your connection 🔐
