George Conway elaborates on his post about Hakeem Jeffries with Molly Jong-Fast
"Congress has to light a fire under the executive branch"
It’s not a question of "getting even."
It’s not even a question.
It’s a duty.
It’s the power and duty of Congress to provide oversight. To ensure that the executive branch is being operated in accordance with the Constitution and the laws that Congress has enacted on the people’s behalf. And to ensure that tax dollars are being spent in the interests of the people, and not for the benefit of the public servants who administer the accounts on the people’s behalf.
This power and duty was exercised by Congress from the earliest moments of the Washington Administration. It has been forsaken by corrupt and craven Congresses of recent years.
It is the new Congress's solemn obligation to resume performance of its duty to oversee the executive branch, and any leader who can’t commit to that obligation should stand aside.

Trump is down. He’s not out.
He still has a veto pen—and a track record of treating the law as optional.
Take the win seriously. Take the threat seriously, too.

People know the truth.
We need to call the question to Republicans: are you going to stand with the Constitution and the American people—or keep protecting a failed president?

I rarely talk about what January 6 cost me and my family. The friendships, the threats, the party I once called home.
But today, I feel something I haven't felt in years.
Vindication.
We refused to bow to Trump. We paid a price. And last night, America roared back.
This one's personal.

Gov. @JoshShapiroPA: I saw 2 things that were really different out on the trail, particularly in communities that overwhelmingly supported Trump in the past. One was people showing up at my events, emotional, with tears in their eyes, just incredible worry about the trajectory of our country. The second thing was in those communities where folks voted for Donald Trump and believed that he would end wars and drain the swamp, and they were finally coming to the realization that if anything, he added to the swamp.
