Support artists, writers, actors, creatives, in any way you can. We are strange beings who take full breaths only to fill in the spots that God's grace kindly lends to us for awhile.
It's not always simply the curves on mountain roads that should determine speed. The real danger is often the way the road is cut/banked.
Monday has a lot on the plate, so a steadying thought or two is warranted:
From Sir William Osler:
The best preparation for tomorrow is to do today's work superbly well.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Worst “hobby”ever.
I despise blister pack pills.
They don’t pop out. They don’t cut out. They’re a pain to store and travel with.
They’d be cheaper and more convenient in a bottle.
The plastic shards add litter.

I've started and abandoned at least 12 posts this morning, most of which were either too hissy, too Victorian, too untimely, or too negative.
You're welcome.
It's going to be important to keep extra watch along CA beaches this upcoming wet season.
If you have been walking along Morro Bay lately and it feels as though the tide is always high, you are not imagining it.
Observed water levels are running about 1.1 feet above the predicted astronomical tide. That anomaly is consistent with the coastal Kelvin wave expected from the strengthening El Niño in the equatorial Pacific, which has reached the Central Coast.
Kelvin waves form when the trade winds over the equatorial Pacific weaken or reverse, disturbing the ocean on a large scale. The disturbance travels east toward South America. When it reaches the coast, part of the energy turns north and south as a coastally trapped Kelvin wave, moving along the west coast of the Americas at roughly 6 mph.
Unlike ordinary wind waves, a Kelvin wave does not break on the shore. It raises sea level over a broad stretch of coast, often by 6 to 12 inches, for days to weeks. It also deepens the thermocline, reduces upwelling of cold, nutrient-rich water, and can leave coastal ocean temperatures unusually warm.
An anomaly of 1.1 feet fits the arrival of such a wave, but more observations are needed to separate its contribution from other oceanic and atmospheric effects, such as the high number of hurricanes in the eastern Pacific this tropical cyclone season.
If the same elevated baseline coincides with the king tides around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and January 19–23, and with storms that add surge from low pressure and southeasterly winds, water levels could exceed 8 feet.

Writers' worlds tell a story while life itself is also busy.
It's good to pay attention to the current marketing hype, but I'm not going to spend according to the current marketing hype.
Not decorative, but storage bag boxes with the top off keep loose clutter in a junk drawer under control.
This post woke up a good will in me I didn't know I needed.
