Two weeks ago it gave me immense joy to present a Senate medal to one of the kindest and most beloved members of Canada’s Jewish community. Today I am gutted by the loss of Honey and Barry Sherman. Our community is steeped in grief. I am heartbroken.

I am so sad to hear the terrible & tragic news of Barry & Honey Sherman's death. Barry was one of my very first clients when I started & I learned so much from working with someone whose brain moved as fast as his did -- and whose stinging wit was rarely far behind. Rest in Peace

On behalf of all Toronto residents, I want to express my deepest condolences to the Sherman family. I am shocked and heartbroken to learn that Barry and Honey Sherman were found dead in their home today. I have had the privilege of knowing them both well for many years.
