More than 40,000 Canadian Armed Forces members served during Canada’s mission in Afghanistan. 158 never came home, and many others returned carrying physical and psychological wounds that continue long after service ends. Today, and everyday, we Remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we honour the courage of all who served, and we stand with the Veterans and families who live every day with the lasting impacts of that mission. As an organization committed to supporting Veterans of all eras, our focus remains on Remembrance, respect, and support — for the fallen, for those who served and returned, and for their loved ones. To learn more about Canada’s longest war and the people who served, we invite you to explore this interactive story from Legion Magazine: legionmagazine.com/afghanist…

Our Statement in response to President Trump's comments: The service and sacrifice of British personnel in Afghanistan cannot be called into question, and we condemn any comments that undermine their extraordinary contribution.

The American President is not looking for a respectful partnership with Canada. He’s demanding our obedience & subservience. Not happening. Canada 🇨🇦 is nobody’s colony. And while his disrespect for us is a nuisance, it would only be calamitous if we failed to respect ourselves.

Legendary performance of "The Hook" by Blues Traveler. The song's a clever critique of how the music industry prioritizes catchy hooks over meaningful lyrics. Ironically, it became a huge hit—proving its own point

Canadian MP Charlie Angus just sounded off on Trump. "So yes, they are our neighbors, but we've stood up to them. We're in a different situation with Trump, a convicted predator, who's seriously undermining the democratic process in the US. And he thinks he can just push us around. He insults us."

“I am also happy that the suspected shooter is dead.” In all the reactions from political leaders the world over, I can find no other expressing such lipsmacking satisfaction at the violent death of another human being. While others appeal for calm, Poilievre rejoices in retribution. It’s human enough, in such moments, to think it. But to say it — and not in some unguarded private moment but as the public reaction, with the potential for further violence hanging in the air, of a would-be prime minister… This is not normal.
I condemn in the strongest of terms the attempted murder of former President Trump today. I am relieved he is safe. My prayers are with other innocent people harmed or killed by this heinous act. I am also happy that the suspected shooter is dead. Democracy must prevail.

Today, we also remember the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel. “The losses sustained by the Newfoundland Regiment at Beaumont-Hamel on July 1, 1916, were staggering. Of the some 800 Newfoundlanders who went into battle, only 68 were able to answer the roll call the next day.”
