Gaza. Yesterday. A clip that exposes all the pro-Palestinian lies. A funeral for a Hamas member. Meaning he was killed in a targeted attack. No famine. No genocide. Thousands upon thousands of armed combatants. A culture with no desire for peace. And of course no women allowed. The real question is why are the pro-Pallys lying to you? Partly, because like this lot, they also hate Jews. But also, this is what they want for the West. This is your fight whether you know it or not.

They tax jobs out of existence then whine about the consequences. You cannot hate them enough.
I am deeply concerned that Poundland jobs are at risk here in constituency of #PaisleyRenfrewshireNorth in #Braehead with many constituents impacted. Poundland has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, putting 11,000 jobs at risk across more than 600 stores and distribution centres across the UK. I welcome PM Andy Burham's support for Poundland workers & like him, I question why the company's owners chose not to accept a viable solvent offer which @UsdawUnion say could have prevented this outcome. This situation was entirely predictable by @Poundland according to the Shop Workers Trade Union who have been monitoring the situation closely for some time. I have reached out to parliamentary colleagues to explore what options are available to assist and I hope to meet with USDAW trade union who represent Poundland workers to discuss the local issues in more detail.

Does the SNP really want Scottish independence? || Kevin McKenna "Since they succeeded in removing Alex Salmond from the conversation, the SNPโ€™s independence strategy has been stunning in its simplicity. Itโ€™s encapsulated in a single, overriding quest: how to convince the required sufficiency of voters that you are fighting for independence while at the same time covertly ensuring that it wonโ€™t happen any time soon? "Itโ€™s an intricate and delicate high-wire act that requires careful management. There are many moving parts in maintaining the chimera. It also involves a secondary deception: that of appearing to rebuke Westminster politics while feeding ravenously from its endless trough. "In turn, this conceals a third grand illusion: that those selfless tribunes of the Scottish people who volunteer for active service behind enemy lines do so reluctantly for the higher purpose of โ€˜Standing up for Scotlandโ€™ (copyright). Spinning all of these plates in the air is a gruelling enterprise, but the rewards are there for all to see. "If you can maintain this complex conjuration right up to โ€“ and including โ€“ a Holyrood election campaign, you get to add another few years to the pension plan. You can rest easy for a while and get a decent seat beside the buffet carriage on the 24/7 Caledonian Gravy Train express."

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britainโ€™s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who donโ€™t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britainโ€™s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britainโ€™s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

๐Ÿ’ฏ right from @KemiBadenoch here. The slave trade was an abomination but African nations were as complicit in it as Europeans, and the Arab slave trade lasted long after we outlawed it and devoted huge resources to stamp it out.

Burnam is forcing the food sector to align with EU regs because our food exports fell from its peak in 2019. But, the food sector pivoted inward, retaining and consuming a much larger share of its own market a key structural shift the UK food industry operation, driven by Brexit
Catherine McBride OBE Economist warns about the way the Reset is being sold is so wrong โ€œWith respect to the agrifood industry, the Reset is being sold as a way to increase the UK's exports, but this is simoly not true. The UK doesn't export much food now, and it didn't before Brexit. In fact, UK exports of Food and live animals to the EU make up just 1.3% of total UK exports. The UK is a food importer. The Reset will just push some export companies' costs onto UK taxpayers and make it harderto import food from non-EU countriesโ€

There were five slave trades. You were taught about only one. ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง One. The Atlantic. Twelve million Africans shipped to the Americas. Britain banned it in 1807, then hunted it for sixty years. Two. The Barbary trade. A million Europeans taken to North Africa. Britain bombarded Algiers in 1816. Three. The Saharan trade. A thousand years of caravans north across the desert. Britain had its northern end banned. Tripoli, 1857. Four. The East African trade. Twenty thousand people a year through one customs house. Britain forced the market shut. 5 June 1873. Five. The Ottoman trade. Raiders sold Eastern Europeans south for three hundred years. Britain made the Sultan ban it in 1854. It cost sixty years and two thousand sailors. Nobody else fought all five. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง It isn't over. Mauritania only made it a crime in 2007. Fifty million people are in slavery today.
