I don’t think people realise how important commissions are to artists. It’s the reason we are able to eat and have a roof over our heads.
A silly lil doodle to a 70 hr painting you buy off an artist is literally helping them live, eat and be who they are.
Support artists please. The love you give back to an artist they will give it back ten fold in the form of tutorials, free art on the timeline, go to conventions to meet them etc.
Those who support we appreciate y’all so much ❤️

Seeing all the insights and stories of fellow comic artists tonight has broken my heart open.
For years I thought I was just a slow, bad artist who wasn’t working hard enough, who must be difficult and lazy and not passionate because I couldn’t get 200+ pages done in 5 months.

BORDER RIDING is here!
Create the story of a village, and follow it through the ages. A game about boundaries & where we draw them, printed on a massive map.
It's live on Kickstarter now!

ALT Illustration. A rider on horseback races across rolling Scottish hills, bearing a flag aloft. They ride alongside a handmade stone wall, which snakes back and forth into the distant hills. Text reads "Border Riding. A game about boundaries & where we draw them, funding on Kickstarter 15th to 28th February 2023!". There are also icons for Zine Quest 5 and Zine Month 2023.

Decided to add this to the emails requesting to use my images for free in scientific papers and presentations. Most scientific projects run on small budgets. Would be interested to know your thoughts on the matter. ;) #creativebusiness #payyourartists

I've been looking forward to my first TCAF for years. I'm paying thousands of dollars to come to Canada to attend and exhibit because I really believe in the festival. Why would you do this when the online comics community has been Extremely Vocal about how NFTs fucking suck

PSA to all illustrators:
The BBC is currently commissioning illustrators for a new climate awareness campaign.
The fee is below industry standard and they want a FULL RIGHTS GRAB.
I -strongly- urge you NOT to take on any job like this.
It is exploiting you.

I said goodbye today to River, who most of you know as Fallout 4’s Dogmeat.
Heartbroken doesn't cover it, but I won’t eulogize her here. For twitter, I thought it'd be appropriate to look back at her impact on that game.
(plus, writing about game dev hurts less than grieving)
