Hospitals and other healthcare providers are gaming the No Surprises Act, abusing the arbitration process created by the bill, reaping an extra $17 billion last year alone. In end, consumers are footing the bill, as premiums rise to cover the extra costs.

Just so everyone knows be cause I have been to my share of rallies:
When you hear the yays and applause or hear the boos or the signs go up - it’s because they are being told to do that for effect! Doesn’t mean they agree - at least I hope not for the sake of our country
Less than 20% of hospitals across the US clearly disclose their prices. Without real transparency, patients are subject to surprise bills and fees, making care even more unaffordable.

Fewer providers, higher costs. In Michigan, the AG is suing Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan, alleging that large insurance provider illegally colluded with other BCBS companies to consolidate local markets and diminish competition.

Open enrollment is almost here, and many Americans are facing difficult choices between comprehensive but increasingly expensive coverage and more affordable plans that may fall short of their health care needs. Patients deserve better.

Health care costs have increased consistently over the last 4 years, and deductibles have grown faster than inflation for roughly a decade. As the bills get bigger, patients are struggling to keep up.

Trust is an essential part of the patient experience. Price transparency not only limits surprise medical bills, but it shows the patient that the provider is honest and administering quality care.

Not only does prior authorization deny physician–recommended care, but it can prevent access to self-administered treatments, such as GnRHas forcancer, even when preferred by most patients and approved by their doctors.

Oklahoma is a microcosm of our healthcare affordability & access problems. The average Oklahoman has >$2,000 in medical debt. The state’s rural hospitals are set to close en masse, so as care gets more expensive, people will have a harder time accessing it.liveinsurancenews.com/oklaho…
Rising hospital prices impact lives. 36% of Americans could not afford a surprise medical bill of $1,000 or more, and when patients are faced with health care expenses, they exhaust savings, cut back on basic needs, or delay care altogether.

Native American and Alaska Native patients are exempt from new Medicaid work requirements. Native Hawaiians are not, even though clinicians warn the same barriers to care apply. More than half of Native Hawaiians live outside Hawai'i, cut off from the systems built to serve them.
We can’t let patients in need get caught in the crossfire of efforts to combat fraud. Local providers and their patients shouldn’t pay the price for overly broad fraud prevention tactics that could make it harder to access needed care.
Autism therapy has been a covered Medicaid benefit since 2014. Providers now warn that aggressive new eligibility crackdowns will push kids with autism out of coverage entirely. Cutting paperwork corners shouldn't mean cutting off care.
Insurers take note: UnitedHealthcare just announced that 1,700 services will no longer require prior authorization. Prior authorization delays care, putting insurers, not doctors, in charge of the treatments patients can receive. app.sosha.ai/s/Ffz2VYQl
The No Surprises Act was supposed to make health care more affordable for patients. Eliminating surprise billing is the right start, but now we have a complicated system of prior authorization, arbitration, and negotiation, inflating health care costs. app.sosha.ai/s/pocUgOPg
