Why does bitcoin:native keep getting stuck at $80,000?
Since Saturday morning, bitcoin:native has spent 61 hours within $500 of $80K.
It slipped below twice, and both times it was back above within 2 hours.
Research has a neat explanation for round numbers.
Economist Carol Osler studied real orders at a big currency-dealing bank (Journal of Finance, 2003) and found two patterns:
1️⃣ Profit-taking orders bunch exactly AT round numbers. Those waiting orders soak up the move, so price often stalls or turns there.
2️⃣ Stop-losses bunch just PAST round numbers. Once price breaks through, they fire one after another, and the move speeds up.
bitcoin:native traders love round numbers too: one study found more than 10% of BTC prices ended in .00.
So $80K isn’t magic. It’s just where a lot of orders are waiting. It’s a tendency, not a rule; round numbers break all the time.
Be honest: is your stop sitting just under $80K? 👇

bitcoin:native trades 24/7.
But its busiest half hour is set by a market that’s closed most of the Indian day: Wall Street.
BTC on Delta, last 90 days:
• 7:00–7:30 PM IST, when US stocks open: median move 0.80% on weekdays, BTC’s busiest half hour
• Same half hour on weekends, with no US market: 0.19%
• During Indian market hours: 0.28%, about a third of 7 PM
Trading on Delta peaks in that same half hour, at 4.4× the volume of Indian market hours.
What it means if you trade BTC:
• A stop set during a calm afternoon gets tested after 7 PM
•The daytime moves happen on much thinner trading
Heads-up: US clocks change on 1 Nov.
From 2 Nov, US stocks open at 8:00 PM IST. Let’s see if Bitcoin’s busy hour moves with it.
Tonight’s US open: 7 PM.

Friday’s biggest Bitcoin call bets sit right at the ceiling.
bitcoin:native options expiring tomorrow at 5:30 PM:
• $63M in calls at $86.5K–87K, a level BTC hasn’t closed above since 21 Sep
• $55M of that was opened in the last 6 hours
• In the same 6 hours, $17M of new puts at $79K
The options market sees a Friday close above the ceiling as a long shot:
bitcoin:native is at $82.2K, and the priced move by Friday is ±1.4%.
Near zone to watch: $82.6K–84.1K.
BTC opened today at its top and slipped below it this morning.
The catch: open interest shows the bets, not who’s on which side.
Bought: paying for a breakout above $86.5K or a drop below $79K.
Sold: collecting premium, betting BTC stays between $79K and $86.5K.

$TSLA reports tonight (around 1:30 AM IST).
Options traders are pricing a move of about ±6.5%.
That’s 4–5 normal Tesla days in one night.
Its median daily move is 1.4%.
Is the market pricing too much or too little?
• Usually too much: the actual move was smaller than priced in 6 of the last 8 reports
• July broke that pattern: priced ±5.9%, actual −15.6%
From $387, ±6.5% means $361–$412.
The top would clear the ceiling of $389 Tesla hasn’t broken since August.
The bottom wouldn’t reach its floor of $344.
After results, option prices usually drop sharply because the uncertainty is gone. Traders call it IV crush.
Tonight: one of the usual 6, or another July? 👇

How many BTC does 1 ETH buy?
Divide ethereum:native ’s price by bitcoin:native ’s : $2,390 ÷ $81,532 = 0.0293.
When ETH gains more than BTC, that number rises.
When BTC gains more, it falls.
Since 2024 it has moved in three phases:
• Feb 2024 -Apr 2025: ETH −35%, BTC +76%.
BTC did better
• Apr - Aug 2025: ETH +201%, BTC +33%.

• Aug 2025 - today: ETH −50%, BTC −28%.

bitcoin:native is at $82.6K, caught between a hard ceiling and four zones below.
Above:

Zone 2 · $76.0K–76.7K (−7% to −8%): weekly lows 3 weeks in a row, late Aug–mid Sep

bitcoin:native broke support yesterday. Then it erased the whole move in 3 hours.
• 6:30 PM: dipped to $79,737, $363 below its $80.1K–81.5K support zone
•By 9:30 PM: back above $82.5K, +3.6% from the low
Traders call this a sweep.
Obvious levels attract stop-losses and liquidations.
When price pokes through, those orders fire at once. If no real selling follows, price snaps back.
What it tells you:
•A wick through support isn’t a breakdown. The close matters more.
•Stops sitting exactly at the obvious level tend to be the first ones hit.
Chip stocks did the same:
TSMC’s token on Delta dipped to $408, below its $413 mid-September low, then closed back at $423.

•Ceiling: $84.1K–84.35K, which has capped BTC 4 days in a row

If $80.1K gives way, the next clear base on the chart is $76.4K–77.2K.

US inflation data comes out today at 6:00 PM IST.
Here’s what to expect, and what BTC did the last two times. What’s expected (September CPI):
•Headline: 3.6–3.7% YoY, up from 3.4%, mostly from petrol prices
•Core: 0.2% MoM, 2.4% YoYThe headline jump is already expected.
The number that can move markets is core. A hot core reading raises the odds of another Fed hike at the Oct 27–28 meeting.
What bitcoin:native did in the first hour after the last two CPI releases:
• Aug 12: moved 0.88%, about twice its usual range for that hour
• Sep 11: moved 2.69%.
It wicked down 1.3% in the first 5 minutes, then rallied 2.7% off that low At $83K, a 2.7% hour is about $2,200 of movement.
If your stop or liquidation level sits inside that range, 6 PM is when it gets tested.

TSMC reports on Thursday. But the headline number is already out.
Its monthly sales put Q3 revenue at NT$1.494T, about US$46.9B, above the top of its own guidance ($44.6–45.8B).
A revenue beat won’t be news.
Last quarter showed why that matters: record revenue, margins beat, outlook raised, and chip tokens kept falling anyway (SOXL −23.7%, Micron −10.6%, AMD −10.2%, NVIDIA −4.7% at the lows).
What’s actually new on Thursday (call 11:30 AM IST): gross margin as 2nm ramps, Q4 guidance, 2026 capex.
The chart going into it 👇

$TSMB on Delta, daily:
•Down 9.4% from its Oct 5 high ($487.63)
•Lost its 21-day average (~$460) on Oct 9
•Now sitting just above $425–437, the zone that capped price for six weeks before the Sep 21 breakout
Old resistance turning into support is the test. Holding it keeps the uptrend intact. A daily close below $425 opens up the mid-September low near $413.
To repair the trend, it needs to get back above ~$460.
Which way does it break after Thursday?
