Trying to make everyone happy leads to burnout. Setting firm personal boundaries is necessary to keep your mental health safe from toxic situations and people.
Opinions are mixed on how quickly you should trust people, but there is a consensus that when someone shows you who they are, you should believe them the first time rather than ignore red flags. Now, I give no second chances.
In the past, I thought that if someone hurt you or did the wrong thing to you, you should speak up, be honest, and tell them. That is what I thought — before. Now, I say nothing. Now, I just remove myself from that person's ability to do it to me again. No conflict, no argument, just peace and calm.
