EIS members at Lenzie Academy in East Dunbartonshire are urged to vote YES to strike action over serious health and safety concerns in their school. Concerns raised by members over many years include: •     Major roof leaks and water ingress •     Water near electrics •     Asbestos-related risks •     Mould and damp •     Heating failures (rooms too cold / too hot) •     Broken fire doors •     A non-working secure entry system •     Damaged flooring causing trip hazards •     General disrepair A mandate for industrial action will allow EIS members to hold East Dunbartonshire Council to account and ensure repairs are carried out in a timely fashion. Vote Yes to ensure EDC make Lenzie Academy safe for staff and pupils!

Day 2 of Report On The Shelf, The National Conversation found a real desire amongst teachers to have a great education system but a concern the system could change with so little time and so many initatives. Reduced contact time could allow teachers to lead the changes we need.

This is our flag. It stands for tolerance, for inclusion, for respect and for a welcoming nation. It shouldn't be sullied or poisoned by those who weaponise it for bigotry.
