Fun word of the day:
Perspicacious: keenly perceptive or insightful, especially able to notice and understand things others miss.
Ex: “The perspicacious questions exposed a contradiction everyone else had overlooked.”
It implies more than simply being intelligent: a perspicacious person sees beneath the surface, recognizes subtle distinctions, or accurately judges someone’s character or motives. Close synonyms include astute, discerning, shrewd and insightful.
The noun is perspicacity, meaning keen insight or discernment.
The word comes from the Latin perspicere, “to see through.”

Elon Musk just threw out IQ scores, degrees, and fancy vocabulary in one sentence. His definition of intelligence is brutal and simple: how accurately can you predict what happens next?
Not how fast you read. Not how many books you’ve finished. Not how well you debate. Just — were you right about the future?
Think about it. A chess grandmaster sees 20 moves ahead. A great investor sees where markets go before they get there. A great engineer sees failure points before they fail. They’re not “smart” because of how they performed in school. They’re smart because reality keeps confirming their predictions.
And the same applies to AI. Elon doesn’t care how fluently a model writes or how impressive it sounds. He wants to know: does it get the future right?
By that metric, most of what we call intelligence is just confidence wearing a costume.
Ignorant haters asking "what's the point?" helped me realize that Elon is not only our greatest inventor, but also our greatest artist today.
Most humanities are led by insecure sheeple addicted to woke ideologies de jour and disdain for creators of true beauty (ex: Nobel prizes this year),
while Elon creates real art with authentic passion for beautiful designs just for fun and inspiration.
(Like Jonny Ive)
Nevermind the fact that the innovations required to make his art also end up extremely useful beyond their initial purposes.
Elon is a true artist.

你说的是逻辑,他听的是情绪;
你讲的是结构,他在想你是不是瞧不起他。
和认知低的人沟通就是一种巨大的消耗,因为你们根本不在同一个频道:
你讲理,他就打感情牌;

Here’s @elonmusk on philanthropy:
“SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and The Boring Company are philanthropy. If you say philanthropy is love of humanity, they are philanthropy.
“Tesla is accelerating sustainable energy.
“This is philanthropy.
“SpaceX is trying to ensure the long-term survival of humanity with multi-planet species.
“This is love of humanity.
“Neuralink is here to help solve brain injuries and existential risk with AI — love of humanity.
“The Boring Company is trying to solve traffic, which is hell for most people, and that also is love of humanity.”

My sources are telling me Talarico is in a mental health facility. His campaign has stopped actively planning events in the vital homestretch of the campaign.
If this is true, this is actually a time to pray for Talarico. We should, of course, savagely mock his smug, awful campaign advisors, by all means...and while yes, of course, this would be disqualifying for Talarico's aspirations to be a Texas Senator, we must hold empathy for anyone undergoing crisis. Campaigns are brutal, and not everybody is cut out for it. You need very thick skin. As much as I don't want Talarico anywhere near government, I also don't want wish him harm, and no political office is worth having a breakdown. His awful advisors are at fault for this. They pushed him to be something he isn't, and it didn't work.
I'm praying that this isn't true, and he's OK. You want to win these fights on the battlefield of ideas, not the minefield of poor health.

Amazing.
These researchers found that there's a spike in Bitcoin activity around the time foreign aid money goes out.
Somewhere between 2 and 6 cents of every dollar of World Bank foreign aid disbursements got siphoned off into crypto wallets:
Journal entry 2 years ago:
"I'm grateful if I can stay asleep between 1a and 6a and avoid nightmares and wake up with any sanguinity.
I've been priming my mind with 2 questions before I sleep:
- How has God answered my prayers?
- How can I receive and feel God's mercy.
This has helped.
"Gratitude to [God]
broadens our perception and clears our vision.
It inspires humility and fosters empathy toward our fellowmen and all of God’s creation.
Gratitude is a catalyst to all Christlike attributes!
A thankful heart is the parent of all virtues."

but the parent of all the others.”

He was upset with me, but wouldn’t tell me why. I told him even if you’re upset with ME, your voice still matters. Speak up for yourself.
Then I noticed how softly he spoke, how much he looked down, and how hard it was for him to confidently say his own name.
I pushed him a little, he got emotional, and honestly, so did I. I saw a little of myself in him.
Confidence isn’t something I’m expecting him to magically have tomorrow.
We’re going to practice it together.
