A big thank you to Charles Marinaro at the Catskill International Film Festival for such a thoughtful and engaging conversation around the making of The Current State of the Backyard Pool Industry. Charles brought some wonderful questions to the table, and I appreciated the opportunity to dive deeper into the filmmaking process with Minor Prophets and share some stories along the way. If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you’ll have two upcoming opportunities on the East Coast to catch The Current State of the Backyard Pool Industry on the big screen. First up we bring our film home to the Delco Film Festival on Friday, October 9th. Then on Saturday, October 10th at the Catskill Int'l Film Festival. We’re also excited to announce a number of Finalist and Semi-Finalist recognitions.

Ten years ago, the loop opened and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was released into the world. Countless great memories of making this extraordinary film. So much of what you see on screen was really there. Incredible locations, practical sets, stunts and effects, with stunning VFX used to extend and enhance the world rather than replace it. You can feel that physicality, and for me that’s a big part of what makes it special. And then, of course, there’s the stellar cast, led by the extraordinary Eva Green, who brought so much character, elegance and mystery to Miss Peregrine. The music was another huge part of the film, with a beautiful score by @mike.higham and @mmargeson capped off by the fantastic “Wish That You Were Here” by @florenceandthemachine There are a lot of personal memories wrapped up in this one too with @leah.gallo.photography there documenting the journey and writing The Art of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which became a wonderful record of the experience. And Baby Des, our own peculiar, came along for the adventures! Very grateful to have been part of bringing @ransomriggs peculiar world to the screen, and to have watched @timburton bring it to life with such passion and such a singular vision. I’m especially grateful to everyone who has continued to discover and embrace the film over the years. I consider it an underrated gem, full of wonder and heart, so it’s great to see the film continue to gain the following it deserves. Here are some behind the scenes from inside of the loop! Happy 10th, Miss Peregrine and all of the Peculiars! 🖤. #missperegrineshomeforpeculiarchildren #timburton #ransomriggs #evagreen #behindthescene With @missperegrinex @missperegrineshomeforpeculiars @20thcenturystudios @disneystudios @timburtonnet @timburtondaily @timburtonfbrasil @world_of_tim_burton @filmmakerlife_ @missperegrines_home
