Investigators searched for Leanne for years.
Then a Florida inmate named Robert McKinley Richards claimed he had abducted and killed her.
He reportedly took investigators to locations where he said he had buried her.
But the searches found no evidence of her remains, and he was never charged in her disappearance.
Richards was later murdered in prison.
And Leanne?
Still missing.
Her family never got the answers they needed. Her mother died without knowing what happened to her daughter.
The girl who had been looking forward to prom disappeared on an ordinary Wednesday night-and the truth may have disappeared with her.
What happened during those few minutes on Highway 46 remains unanswered.
𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘🧵
A 17-year-old girl vanished in less than 10 minutes.
On April 15, 1987, Martha Leanne Green finished work in Tennessee and climbed into a car with her twin brother, Lawson.
They barely made it half a mile before the car ran out of gas.
A family stopped to help. Lawson went with them to get fuel.
Leanne stayed behind.
When he returned, she was gone.
Her purse and keys were still there.
Then, years later, a man claimed he knew what had happened to her…
But even that didn't bring her family answers.
The rest of this case is chilling....

Sydney Sweeney was once called "frumpy" by strangers on the internet. Days later, she gave them a response they probably weren't expecting.
After paparazzi photos of her in a bikini sparked cruel comments about her body, Sydney didn't stay silent. She shared screenshots of the insults, then posted footage of herself lifting weights, flipping tires and training like a boxer.
There was a reason for those workouts: she was preparing to play legendary boxer Christy Martin.
Sydney appeared on a New York rooftop in the rain, posing in an open Miu Miu cardigan with no shirt underneath. Her caption? "rain rain go away."
The internet had spent days judging her body. She answered by refusing to let strangers dictate how she presented herself.
And perhaps the most revealing part of the whole story? She was changing her body for a role while strangers criticized her for it.
😭Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone had a scene cut from The Housemaid that most moviegoers never got to see.
Director Paul Feig revealed that the scene was removed after test screenings because audiences wanted to focus on other characters. It was the only scene they had to cut - and he suggested it could return if a sequel happened.
Now, Sydney and Michele are filming The Housemaid’s Secret together, and new set footage shows their characters in a tense exchange. Could the sequel finally give fans the Millie-and-Enzo story that barely made it into the first movie? 👀
Sarah Jessica Parker was so embarrassed filming a scene with Chris Noth. 😍
In Season 1, Carrie accidentally farts while lying in bed with Mr. Big. Sarah Jessica was reportedly mortified, and while hiding under the blanket, she accidentally ran into the bathroom door. The crew kept that moment in the episode!
But here's another detail fans might love: Sarah Jessica Parker insisted on a no-nudity clause throughout the show's entire six-season run. Even on a series famous for its frank conversations about relationships, she never had to compromise that boundary.
Before Tom Holland, Zendaya had a first love she almost never spoke about publicly. 💔
In a 2017 Vogue interview, Zendaya revealed that she had been in a four-year relationship that ended painfully. She admitted that her first thought after the breakup wasn't heartbreak - it was essentially wondering how she could have made such a bad decision.
Fans suspected she was talking about actor and singer Trevor Jackson, her longtime friend, but Zendaya never publicly confirmed his identity as the ex. Even before her Spider-Man romance, she had already learned how complicated love could be.
