Coming soon (tomorrow!) — BUILT TO GROW, our field guide to creating excellent sales orgs, by the inimitable @she_travels.
I have a bunch of these taking up way too much space in our storage rooms. Would love to make some house calls this week to SF startups who are building their sales teams.
Email me (in bio!). And let me know if you’re a @stripe user!
it's a highly highly highly competitive space, with very little real differentiation between products/branding/marketing/perf (except for @turbopuffer they're so ahead of other vdbs its not even funny)
its not surprising you see so many internet slap fights between ceos

dandy is one of the most impressive companies that almost no one has noticed. long toni and dan
Dandy will be the largest dental company in the world.
VCs and Founders talk a lot about the impact robotics and AI will have on high mix, low volume manufacturing industries.
Nothing gets more high mix and low volume than dental prosthetics.
The team at Dandy has obsessed over two customers: the dentist and the patient.
Dentists need restorations that fit, a lab they can rely on, and fewer appointments spent fixing problems. Patients want to eat, speak, and smile without their dentures becoming the center of their lives.
That focus led Dandy to rebuild the process from scan to finished product. Today, they’re introducing dentures designed to take two appointments instead of the traditional five or six.
We all know that better, faster, cheaper is the strongest value proposition a company can have.
In high mix, low volume environments that is extremely challenging. Over the last 18 months though, Dandy has had dozens of breakthroughs in material science, robotics and AI to bring this vision to life in a precision manufacturing market that nearly no one knows about, but almost everyone experiences in their daily lives.
The hard work and determination that this team has had to bring these products to market will not only have an impact on peoples smiles globally, but many more markets to come.

I wrote an essay about why the next frontier for AI is the world outside the data center
Nature is a system more complex than anything we've ever created
AI can learn how the system fits together, so we can finally understand how to shape it
How?

The puzzle of why the @turbopuffer X account follows these 5 people, and no one else, is either a deliberately hard puzzle or an insider joke. If anyone cracked it, let me know:

there's two types of brand that will win, ones that are...
1. whimsical:
we're past the "productivity" and "efficiency" era, but we'll always be innately drawn to things that are fun.
2. timeless:
this is how luxury brands have survived til this day. they sell a class / aura that people want to be associated with.
