Instead of radicalising the Tory party after the next election, or other party policies at the general election, how about doing your job and telling your government what your constituents think about current education policy - if you know?
Devizes Lib Dems retweeted
Lack of support for education has been a constant under the Tory government. Like the @LibDems it's good to see Labour fighting to improve education for the majority.

Translation: We need a scapegoat for an increasingly inequitable society where the top 1% are relatively far better off even than in Maggie’s time … let’s blame it all on migrants. If you cared about low pay you would have approved nurses pay rises. We really are not idiots !

We have less control of our borders than we did in 2016. Just repeating rubbish again and again does not make it true. We need sustainable growth to get us out of this hole including the benefit of immigration where we need it - and boy do we need it in health care etc..

Ludicrous! He’s focussed on the election after next and trying to get his faction to beat the more centrist Tories. Like the last two summers - totally self indulgent - and I would say selfish (not a great Christian trait!) when his paid job is to help his constituents!
We’re in the same boat in Devizes - can’t wait to vote them out!

@danny__kruger has abandoned his party in Wiltshire who are losing local by elections almost weekly! All he cares about is forcing the tories further to the right for the election after next - it helps no one with high costs, too few health/or care workers and shambolic gov.
Quite! If you lived in Germany the train bit would be about 30% of that cost - they love their cars but use both methods effectively.

Sure - but if you drove to grately/Andover and it was then cheaper to get around (like I did when I lived in Tidworth) you might do that 1/2 the time - I drive a hybrid but not an EV yet - and use train when I can - balanced not one or the other.

Deeper sigh - I think do think transport needs to be more balanced - but biggest issue actually is how expensive train travel is, impact of BREXIT acknowledged now by all to be massive (on right they argue not properly implemented), liberals traditionally pretty up for freedom!
Unbelievable - right wing Tories now happy to sacrifice the elderly on the altar of principle. They are well aware that there is absolutely no prospect of them replacing foreign workers in our understaffed in the short or probably medium term!

Miriam Cates, MP in the New Conservatives group which wants stricter measures to curb immigration, says ending temporary visa schemes would encourage Brits to fill care sector jobs.

I agree they can’t get anything done.. Things are bad - but it’s not migration but austerity and BREXIT . Fruit rotting unpicked (farming) Honda in Swindon closing, (business), record vacancies in NHS (BREXIT), mortgages (housing paralysis), sewage in rivers …
Replying to @danny__kruger @tomhunt1988
We obviously disagree on principle - but my more subtle point is that countries that want migration to work (at a high or low level) need to believe in the public sector to get it done. This lazy entitled shower denigrate civil servants at every turn EVEN when they need them!
Replying to @danny__kruger @tomhunt1988
ironic that Germany and France refuse more immigrants than the UK. this government hates needing the public sector to do anything (like control migration, manage water etc.) Meanwhile apparently care homes should get rid of all foreign staff?? #GE please??
Frome and Melksham are both a delight to visit to canvass or deliver - Parliament (20/7) and town council (13/7) by elections - two great candidates and such a positive response on the doorstep - if you can help, DM. Itching to get Glen the clairvoyant to call the result! 😀
