The King Center is pleased to announce Minyon Moore as the 2027 recipient of the Coretta Scott King Beloved Community Soul of the Nation Award.
The Coretta Scott King Beloved Community Soul of the Nation Award recognizes visionary leaders who dedicate their lives to protecting democracy, fostering unity, and ensuring that every voice has a place at the table.
Minyon Moore has spent decades answering that call. As the first African-American Director of Political Affairs in the White House, an essential force behind the President's Initiative on Race, and Chair of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, Minyon has consistently translated vision into transformative strategy. Through coalition-building, voter education, and public service, Minyon has spent her career making sure marginalized communities and underrepresented leaders have a seat and a voice. Her devotion to equity and inclusion reflects the very heart of the Beloved Community.
