For as much as i take issue with the most recent Woody adaptations, I think Eric Bauza’s Woody is one of the bright spots of them. Here’s a personal favorite clip of his performance
May he rest in peace. He was gone far too soon

As a massive fan of animation, I really admired and respected Eric Bauza. If you’re like me, it was very easy to see a bit of yourself in him, because he never lost his fandom or passion for the art of cartooning. Though he got his fame from voice acting, he started out in animation as an artist, doing work at Spumco in the early 2000’s.
Even at the peak of his acting career in the last few years, he never forgot where he came from, and he brought the sensibility of being an animation fanatic and artist both to his performances and his support for those in the industry.
When there was a strike or a protest, you could find him on the picket line. When Coyote v Acme was unfairly canned by Warner Bros, he never stopped speaking out about it, despite being the de facto face of the brand. It’s so heartwarming seeing all of the support and messages he’d given to cartoonists on social media through the years, no matter how small they were. He was always looking out for the little guy. Through it all, he was a lover of cartoons and people above all else.
On that note, he was a great ambassador for animation in the public eye during these rocky times for the industry as a whole, constantly going on podcasts and sharing his love for cartoons on social media. Even as someone who didn’t know him personally, I’ll miss him very much. May he rest in peace.

I was hoping to meet him in person and thank him for his kindness and properly gush over his work. Years ago he offered to commission me to design some art for his clothing line, it didn’t end up going very far but he was so sweet and encouraging. I was so sure I’d meet him

I’m so shellshocked and can barely even begin to think. Eric Bauza was always so sweet and encouraging to me in all the times we talked together, he’d leave such kind encouraging comments on my art and knew I loved his Daffy enough to sing happy birthday to me in his voice.

– at Buenos Aires City Region, Argentina

Words can’t describe how shocking and heartbreaking the death of Eric Bauza is. May he rest in peace knowing he’ll never be forgotten because legends never die🕊️

A tribute to Eric Bauza and his incredible work. No matter what the medium, even dubbing Anime, he knocked his performances out of the park every time. I wish so badly I could have had the chance to have him work on another Anime series. RIP, legend.

I got a bit of flak for saying this in May, but with the exception of West's Season 1 voice, I honestly think Bauza's take on Stimpy is my favorite. And to think Stimpy could've been mute in APC, but Eric stepped up to do his voice. I can't believe we lost him so soon....RIP king
Oh my gosh...oh my gosh, we just lost some titanic talent. Rest in peace, @bauzilla. Gone too soon...

Rest in peace, Eric. Thank you for taking up the mantle and breathing new life into Looney Tunes icons like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and other countless beloved characters. Your joy and kindness will live on in the hearts of animation fans everywhere.

Besides being immensely talented, Eric Bauza was so kind and gracious. He was certainly someone I looked up to - speaking out for Coyote Vs Acme, showing up at the picket line, and working with Saturday Morning Cartoons United are a few of the ways he showed up for the community.
