When I became Gov the state owed $2.5 billion in debt. Working with the legislature we’ve paid down $1.67 billion (66%) and now only owe $847 million (all while cutting $1.3B in taxes). Pretty sure it’s the first time in history we’ve had substantially more savings than debt.
