When someone pretends "they were there" and "no one hated the prequels at the time"
I would love if we could channel the datacenter backlash into curbing the excesses of Big Tech in general. Get screens out of cars. Get computers out of refrigerators. Stop surveilling everything all the time, stop forcing me into the app, stop trying to steal my data.

talarico should study ossof & aocs constituent services (some of the best from what i understand) and draw up the juxtaposition between cruz. almost as important as his legislative track record. we cannot lose this seat. if we keep tx the reign of republicanism in the us is over

If moderates moved to the progressive stance, that means the progressives won, and progressivism gets the credit. Thats why this discourse is so stupid, because moderate fanbois are pretending this didn’t happen
Big misstep here. You use ballot measure when they drive your voters to the polls, but this issue isn't a driver. Instead, this gives them a vote where they can ground this sentiment without having to vote for the Republican, letting them split their ticket.
Hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians voted for Dems then voted for a trans sports ban.
Having that option on the ballot let voters separate their policy preference from their R/D vote. MGP's opponent ran on his support for the initiative - it passed in her district while she flattened him. opb.org/article/2026/10/21/w…
It's fascinating to phrase this as "put transgender kids in sports" when in fact there is no "put transgender kids in sports" lobby, there's instead a "ban transgender kids from sports" lobby and other people who think the status quo is fine.
Okay so it turns out people are mostly doing this to fuck with the Republican, it didn't actually trick much of anyone.

If nothing else, let's let this and the Platner campaign be the grave of "go find me a messy, scruffy white guy and we'll run him for senate". It was never a strategy, it was a psychosexual obsession of certain podcasters and staffers.

Democrats did not sound like this before Bernie Sanders ran for president and anyone pretending otherwise is obviously full of shit
I don't have words to describe how terrifying this is so I haven't said anything, but this is mega, mega bad. Probably the worst thing since Heartbleed.

How is it that the centrists are all "technically this is an underperformance" about AES winning by 7 points, but the failing to capitalize on a potential supermajority is seen as a win by them?
I *want candidates* whose ideologies cost them votes! I don't want the mathematically most likely to win candidate, I want a candidate who consistently wins with narrow margins because they are pushing my agenda.

If you wanted to humiliate AIPAC and make other Dems less scared of it, it was clearly worth nominating AES, and not someone else who’d have won by 11 but not picked that fight.

People keep saying this this way when this is the smallest number of years and about 20% of the people in the demographic aged out between elections. Between presidential elections more than a third of 18-29 year olds move into or in from other demographics. It's different people
Young White men ages 18 to 29 swung 35 points toward Democrats in the 2026 midterms compared with the 2024 presidential election.

I wish Democrats would stop understanding the primary as "the process of picking the single best candidate" and start understanding it as "the process of making sure the candidate emerges with a platform that reflects the electorate".
We have got to dig "we have to live with these people" out of the ground and burn the roots. Sure, we have to live with them, but we don't have to let them fucking *do this*, we in fact have to physically prevent them from doing it again.
