Are you launching a new product?
Here's how to get your first 1,000 users.
1. Make sure the new user onboarding flow doesn't fucking suck.
This is genuinely the most important thing you can do. If users don't even successfully get onboarded, what's the point of launching?
2. Before launch, run experimental paid ads to register interest
Running paid ads on Meta allows you to funnel users to a waiting page, but it also tells you about these users. Throw small budget at various ad sets, targeting various groups.
See the metrics so you can understand your user and tune for them BEFORE your major launch. Plus, if you're smart you can collect their emails so you can contact them later.
3. Before launch, pre-seed your closest allies.
Get them into the product, tell them what it's disrupting, give them repeatable taglines they can share.
These are basically your mini-marketing drones, and use your tech partners as part of this.
4. Don't overexplain the product
Your announcement is simple.

5. Work with YouTube shorts creators, TikTok UGC creators, and optimize for SEO
Get cheap UGC creators, give them a brief and let them get to work. Make sure the titles optimize for SEO.

Keep pressing the gas here. This is a tried and true vehicle for actually gaining users
7. EXPERIMENT
Do some crazy marketing stunts.
Get your product in front of people in new ways.
Not every single stunt will work, but eventually you're gonna find a winner.
8. Use your network
Your network are your first users. They will share the release, use the product, give feedback, and help onboard.
The more you use your own network, the better the results.
9. If it's a social app, buy users
No one wants an app that feels dead, especially at a first launch. You can buy users in Oceania extremely cheaply, and these will help you retain organic users as they come in.
Obviously there's way more involved, but this is a pretty easy starter pack for your next launch.
