BREAKING: Senator Chris Coons is officially demanding answers after Elon Musk's company Space X sabotaged Ukraine's access to Starlink. Democrats need to be aggressively going after Musk for pandering to Putin and damaging America's national security interests.

With great sadness, we received information about the passing of an Auschwitz Survivor Hermann Höllenreiner, who died three days before his 93rd birthday. Hermann Höllenreiner was a German Sinto. He was born in Hagen on 19 October 1933, and he grew up in Munich. In March 1943, aged nine, he was deported with his family to the German Nazi camp Auschwitz, where he was registered under prisoner number Z-3526 and imprisoned in the section designated by the SS for Sinti and Roma families. Höllenreiner endured hunger, forced labour and daily terror. He later recalled being made to carry jars containing the organs of murdered children for SS physician Josef Mengele, while members of his family were subjected to medical abuse. He was transferred out of Auschwitz before the murder of the remaining prisoners in the Sinti and Roma family camp in August 1944. He subsequently endured imprisonment in Ravensbrück and Sachsenhausen before escaping from a death march near the end of the war. Exhausted and severely traumatised, he was taken to France by liberated French prisoners and eventually placed with a foster family in Paris. His separation from his family continued long after the war ended: only in December 1946 was he reunited in Munich with his parents and sister, who had also survived. In later life, Höllenreiner shared his experiences through talks, interviews and commemorative events, bearing witness to Nazi persecution and speaking out against the continuing discrimination faced by Sinti and Roma. His life inspired Anja Tuckermann’s documentary novel "Mano: The Boy Who Didn’t Know Where He Was." In 2013, he received Germany’s Federal Cross of Merit for his work as a witness and educator. The NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles almost killed Jalen Hurts for a Week 5 international showcase. The full details of what happened behind closed doors in London just surfaced, and the negligence is staggering. Before kickoff in London, Hurts was in a hospital bed until 4:00 AM undergoing emergency vascular testing. Medical staff instructed him not to sleep because sleep was considered an active health risk. Instead of shutting down their $255 million franchise quarterback, the team cleared him to play 60 minutes of brutal, high-impact collision football on zero sleep. Then, they loaded him onto a pressurized, 8-hour transatlantic flight back to Philadelphia. Every doctor on the planet knows that long-haul flights and cabin pressure are the exact triggers that cause lower-extremity blood clots to break free. The Eagles spent days assuring the public it was just a "minor, superficial calf clot". Now the truth comes out: the clot dislodged, shot through his bloodstream, and caused multiple pulmonary emboli in his lungs. Hurts is officially out for the season, placed on blood thinners where taking a single routine tackle could cause a fatal internal hemorrhage. He isn't just lucky to play football again, he is lucky to be alive. When the NFL preaches "player safety," remember this moment. They ran a human being into the ground for television ratings in the UK, almost lost him to a preventable medical catastrophe, and cratered their entire season in the process. Who inside that building signed off on letting him play and board that flight?

All the shit-posting from @Mariners "fans" -- talking people down, begging for people to be fired -- I hope that negativity NEVER, EVER resonates with me. Sometimes even the best laid plans don't work out. So, here's to a productive off-season, and a much, MUCH better 2027!

Truly moving broadcast today. 41 years... So humbling. So much #respect for Rick.

Many don't seem to fully appreciate the talent the Seahawks feature under the age of 25. While other teams in the division are getting older, Seattle is betting on a youthful championship core growing together.

"Ted Simmons used to drive me crazy when he was a young catcher. One day he called time and came out to ask if I was giving him a hard time. I said: ‘I’m trying to win the ballgame. I don’t have the luxury of giving you a hard time.’ Simmons was a bright guy and he learned. It took him a while, but he caught on. As a 19 year old rookie, all he thought about was hitting line drives, which he did very well. You can forgive a catcher for a lot of sins when he clears the bases with a double." Bob Gibson. "That was the greatest thrill of my life, catching a no-hitter. Man, Bob Gibson was throwing fire." Ted Simmons. On Aug. 14, 1971 at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium, Ted Simmons caught Bob Gibson's only career no-hitter, in an 11-0 rout of the Pirates, and became the only catcher in Cardinals history to collect four hits while catching a no-hitter. Ted Simmons was behind the plate in 1,769 games — 1,578 were complete games! He caught 122 shutouts, was an eight-time All-Star, batted above .300 seven times, hit twenty-or-more home runs six times, and drove in 90+ RBI nine times. Despite his incredible offensive numbers, only 5% of the "Baseball Writers' Association of America" voted for him on the 1994 Hall of Fame ballot, making him ineligible. In 2019, the Modern Baseball Era Committee elected Ted Simmons to the National Baseball Hall of Fame! "There are things about some professional athletes that I cannot stand, the pretense, the egos, the pomposity, the greed." Ted Simmons. Retired with more RBI than Johnny Bench, more runs scored than Gary Carter, more hits than Carlton Fisk, higher batting average than Yogi Berra. Drove in more RBI than all catchers except Yogi Berra. Ted Simmons rebelled against baseball’s reserve clause, refused to sign a $25,000 contract, feeling he deserved bigger raise. An anti-war activist, heavily criticized the Nixon administration, and wore his hair so long that he was nicknamed “Simba.” Legend!!!
