Let's review what happens in the prequels, shall we then? Anakin's early childhood was just being a slave. A child who feels the need to assert to others that he is a person and has a name. A Jedi comes and wins him in a bet - not because he's outraged by seeing a child slave, but because he sees a potential tool. The same Jedi takes him away from the only person that loves him. Yeah, his mom wants him to go - what slave wouldn't want to see her child escape? But that doesn't change how a nine-year-old separated from the only family he has would feel. He spends ten years of not knowing what happened to his mother, believing she's a slave, and seeing zero support from anyone to free her and reunite them. And when he's finally able to go do something about her, he finds her tortured and dead, and no one gives an ounce of shit about justice. He is prohibited from marrying the one person that has ever treated him as a human being instead of as a tool. He has to hide their marriage. Later, he is made to command an army of genetically engineered soldiers bred for compulsory military service, with obedience literally implanted into their brains - who are just treated as more tools by the Jedi Council. So what exactly would be the proper reading of Anakin's story, if you consider all the socioeconomic factors behind his life?
