We help policy-makers design more efficient #agroforestry support policies by:
🌳targeting areas with very low tree coverage
🥇focusing on AF systems showing the highest potential also considering farmers' acceptance
⚖️comparing AF-related policies of different EU countries
From @EULandownersOrg, @TackJurgen gave a physical demonstration of the complexity of numerous agriculture legislation during the current mandate. Let's hope the strategic dialogue is fruitful and it continues after the #EUElections. #ForumforAg
#DigitAF makes data useful, accessible, shared and reused and provides hands-on, user-friendly and open-source tools helping farmers deal with the complexity of #agroforestry systems.

Nanna-Louise Linde @nannalinde further shares the need for policies that supports both the #GreenTransition and the #DigitalTransformation, and how @Microsoft is ready to do its part and train farmers on their digital tools. #ForumforAg
Today, we celebrate the #InternationalDayOfForests. Despite the threats facing our forests, there is still hope. Sustainable agricultural practices like #agroforestry are an effective solution to deforestation, contributing to climate change mitigation.

📣 Great news for #nature today! The @Europarl_EN approved the #NatureRestorationLaw to restore at least 20% of the EU's land and sea areas by 2030 and all ecosystems in need of restoration by 2050.

Based on the 2024 Climate Change Performance Index, much more effort is needed to meet #climate targets.
By increasing the area of tree cover on farms, #agroforestry helps capture and reduce emissions while maintaining high levels of #foodproduction & preserving #biodiversity.
#Agroforestry increases farmland biodiversity: insects, birds, and other organisms can find a habitat among the variety of plant species and promote #SoilHealth by enhancing nutrient cycling, natural pest control, and crop pollination.

"To combat #desertification, have meaningful #climateaction & restore #biodiversity, we need healthy and thriving soil ecosystems.
We all have a responsibility to do what we can to restore #soil function." @lawinowiecki

Witnessed the power of agroforestry in action on a Swiss agricultural landscape! Inspired by the young agroforestry who strategically planted rows of apple trees on his crop field, boosting both biodiversity and farm productivity.
