they've said this about literally every single fucking game they've released, ever, and none of them delivered
Mass Effect 4 would have had 'autonomy and choice that no other game has been able to match' pcgamer.com/games/mass-effec…
This is so bullshit lmaoo
I can finally talk about Mass Effect Universe.
Since Bioware closed I can now reveal that I was part of the Mass Effect Council, saw what BioWare was building, and provided feedback during development.
• Set 600+ years after the Reaper War
• You play as a customizable N7 agent
• Instead of being a walking gun rack, you're a cross between John Wick and James Bond
• Shepard's legacy preserved, regardless of your ending
• A galaxy divided into three major factions
• Humanity, Krogan, Batarians, and more allied together
• Council races forming their own alliance
• The Geth emerging as a third superpower
• A galactic Cold War instead of another Reaper style invasion with a shadowy adversary
• Geth-built megastructures
• Connections between the Milky Way and Andromeda
• Experimental technology implanted in you as a unique point of difference
• Hacking and manipulating the environment
• See through walls, identify systems, remotely trigger hazards and more
• Handcrafted missions like ME1-3
• But with Hitman-style freedom in how you complete them
• Brutal close-range executions
• Squadmates who can clash with each other
• Romance wasn't being sanitised
• Liara returns - now an incredibly powerful Asari Matriarch
From what I saw, BioWare was making Mass Effect for us, the fans, not for people who don't exist.
It looked incredible.
And now we may never get to play it.

The idea a studio that made 3 AAA flops in a row, had lost all its OG talent, and whose last game barely hit half its sales target was suddenly gonna go on a generational run and put out a modern masterpiece is goofy.
Game studios almost never reverse decade-long declines (publisher-developers like Capcom notwithstanding).
A former Mass Effect 5 developer has said that BioWare had seen what RPG powerhouses Larian and CD Projekt were achieving with their games, and was responding by taking Mass Effect to “the next level.” bit.ly/4Bd9j5s

Ayaka Stellar Blade Online
We have started work on a new project called AyakaStellarBladeOnline, a mod that brings online multiplayer to the Stellar Blade game.
What we are aiming for:
- Co-op mode for up to 4 players so that you can explore and fight together with friends
- A Battle Royale mode for up to 100 players
What will work today (PC, in development):
- A new online lobby with Eve on a live character stand.
- An emote wheel with hold-and-release selection.
- Emotes that play on the real in-game Eve, including body, finger, and facial animation.
- A second real Eve spawned into the world, which is the first step toward co-op.
- The groundwork for our own account, party, and ready-check backend.
Cross-platform play is supported:
- PC is the main platform and is where development is happening now.
- PS5 is planned as a later milestone.
- Switch is something we would like to explore, but it depends on the game being available there.
Roadmap: 2-player co-op first, then 4-player co-op, then Battle Royale. This is an early project, so features and timelines may change as we go.
Releases will be published through the AyakaMods site only. You will need your own legitimate copy of Stellar Blade, and no game files will be distributed.
We will post progress updates and test builds here when they are ready. Thanks for reading, and feel free to share feedback or questions.

Unfortunately, Bioware really only had 3 distinct options going forward.
(I am probably not the first person to make this joke)
