US Gov will end up owning a large portion of Open AI and Anthropic. This is not going to work out anyway near the shimmering tale they have sold. Everyone is going to be left holding the bag on this one. Gov stepping in will likely be justified on security grounds but also really to save the economy.
Nothing new to my normal followers here, but I do think this this is likely coming.

This was an interesting case. Ateba used to go to press briefings a daily pass from 2018 to early 2021. In February 2021, he got a "hard pass" that gave him established access, which expired in July 2023 when the policy was changed (the news outlet that he ran by himself wasn't accredited by the SCOTUS press gallery or the House or Senate press galleries). He wasn't singled out.
In any event, Ateba was still able to go to press briefings because was granted a day pass *every time he requested one* under the Biden administration. It actually turned out, as Ateba confirmed in his lawsuit (which was unsuccessful), that he was never denied a day pass until the second Trump administration started.

As far gasoline prices, they peaked higher during Biden's term, but they've been elevated longer during Trump's term. Diesel is higher under Trump.
More importantly, the high gas prices weren't due to Biden's decision -- it was caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In contrast, the current high gas prices are due to Trump decision to bomb Iran.
