Perhaps it’s time to start the #tipsforbankholsdocs I’ll start: when doing TTOs on a predicted discharge for a patient you have never met ensure it is copied to the consultant who should have ensured it was done before the weekend (in case you have missed something important🧐)

@jfdwolff #tipsforbankholsdocs. What about crossing off the first few lines on a paper 2 week chart so that it needs rewriting midweek rather than at the weekend?

Or doing a round of all your wards to assess which patients are on fluids and can then make a decision to continue them or not (instead of waiting till they run out and you get bleeped)

Do IMG doctors not get a clinical attachment first? We certainly offer this followed by clinical fellow post in our trust. Completely agree that extended induction and overlap with previous incumbents is vital for safe care.

British Medical Graduates FY1 doctors get shadowing period before they start their jobs. Really important for safety. IMG doctors are often placed in the deep end from the very first day they join the NHS. Shadowing often denied. Normalise shadowing period for the IMGs

Indeed. Either we all wear masks (to help others) or we don’t bother at all. A few people wearing masks will make almost no difference. Unless they have the virus of course. I would imagine it will be the double vaccinated wearing the masks though….
