I do wish she invited Kacey to collab on one of the tracks though... feels like a missed opportunity there

#KansasSenate Adam Hamilton on transgender rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.” “I’m gonna love the trans person as well as the straight person, male or female. We have to do better than picking on small groups. What’s happened is we’ve turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”

When it was reported he expressed this privately during the first term, I asked him whether he said it. He wouldn’t fess up. And his aides screamed for us to get out of the Oval. He’s just letting the Klan talk rip now. xitter.cf/kylegriffin1/status/95…

I think its bc we measure adulthood through independence while making independence increasingly unaffordable. Ppl end up interpreting their economic dependence as evidence of personal immaturity, then seeking the social leniency we afford children. It's a strange feedback loop.
The self-infantilization of people in their 20s is an odd phenomenon. I don't mean being youthful & whimsical, you're never too old for that. I mean adults past 25 who see themselves as 15 year olds and expect the world to regard them as such and can't understand why it doesn't.

Zora Stephenson has been excellent during the WNBA finals coverage… I hope her bosses give her more opportunities beyond sideline reporting on the men’s side as well. Completely deserves it

I texted my children that we got the puppy they’ve been begging me for and sent them a link with pictures. 🐶When they clicked on the link, it took them to a webpage that said YOU’RE GROUNDED. They’ll be spending the weekend retaking our family’s cybersecurity training course.

I miss when elections were more civil and proper. Like in 1972, when George Wallace finished second in the Democratic primaries and the initial candidate for vice president was kicked off when news of his clinical depression became public.

On message boards, mods would delete threads if you’re just talking about the same annoying topic over and over again. Social media does not have this and that’s why we are in hell

re: Ebert occasionally "missing" on a great movie, I think people forget that the point of criticizing art is not to be "correct," it's to engage with the work sincerely; a critic should be evaluated less on "correctness" and more the consistency/depth of their work

Hayley Williams uplifts Tinashe on her Substack: “Tinashe’s record swept me off my feet. Wasn’t ready. Currently stuck on ‘Flashbacks’ but I really love the opening track too. She’s so f*cking cool.”

looking at the "for you" page is like playing a slot machine... sometimes you see some of the funniest posts/memes you've ever seen but it's mostly the worst ppl on earth spewing a bunch of fuckery about chappell roan's sexuality & such... sometimes it's worth it for the 3 7s tho
