.@perfectgameusa has built one of the most valuable content archives in youth sports ⚾️
CCO @dimejosh told us about the long tail of their catalog when a player eventually gets called up to @MLB.
"From a business perspective, it gives us a really interesting content library. A historical catalog for when somebody does something somebody gets called up. We have their @pgallamerican highlights. Maybe their PG All-Star Game highlights."
Most outlets start documenting an athlete once they're already relevant, but PG has the opportunity to document them before anyone knows they're going to be relevant.
And it's not just through stats anymore, but also video.
"And we can show that progression. You look at a kid like @strikerpence8 today. Let's assume he throws between 98 and 100 mph. Being able to show that 10, 20, 30 mph progression over the years is pretty special in data but also in video form."
Over the next decade there will be thousands of ballplayers PG can utilize their archive to produce before-they-were-famous type content.

Last month @PerfectGameUSA granted us unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the @PGAllAmerican Classic broadcast ⚾️
PG brought out the full production:
- Six broadcast cameras
- A flypack production setup
- Live graphics and replay
- Broadcasters @lifeisgreatsut and 2x WS champ @hunterpence
- On-field social media capture
PG is elite when it comes to content distribution— there may be none better in youth sports. From a pro-style live stream broadcast to social distribution, PG incurs significant cost to produce and distribute content in a way that pro leagues would be jealous of. Worth watching for any operator or rights holder.

The cost of producing high-end youth sports broadcasts is coming down FAST 💰
@perfectgameusa CCO @dimejosh says they're finding five figures in savings year-over-year just from advancements in technology.
But technology is only part of the equation.
It also helps to play the game in @PhilliesCBP where most of the infrastructure is already in place.
Historically, delivering a professional-quality broadcast required significant equipment, people and capital.
With cheaper cameras, production improvements, and automation that changes the economics of which events are worth producing.
We'll see more youth sports events receive pro-level production without the pro-level budgets.

One baseball game can become 35 pieces of content ⚾️
@PerfectGameUSA CCO @dimejosh breaks down the content engine behind the @PGAllAmerican Classic from players walking into the stadium to batting practice, dugout moments and the game itself.
Stop thinking about a youth sports event as one piece of content. The opportunity is in every moment that can become a story, clip, photo, or sponsor asset.

Another example of Bob Costas being a total pro and gentleman. While many laugh at this viral moment, Bob regrets it - and immediately apologized to Pedro Strop. A great moment from this week's podcast.

One of the first people I reached out to before we launched Dime. Rob took my cold call and gave me 30 minutes of advice. I wanted to talk to him specifically because Fader led with great photography and design rather than magazine covers that looked like billboards. 💔
