Having armed National Guard troops and increased federal law enforcement in DC continues to cause fear and intimidation in our communities – and it must stop. Following Tuesday’s elections, I am incredibly hopeful that we now have the partners we need at the state and congressional levels to make real change happen – and happen soon. I am calling on the newly elected Democratic governors in Georgia, Iowa, Nevada, Ohio, and Texas to remove their National Guard troops from the District immediately once they take office.
