Dear @LordStras Word locally says you aren’t happy with the leadership of @bathnes making changes to Bath that you don’t want to be embroiled in. You’ve paid them £170k in donations & they listen to you. Residents pay them £136.5m pa & they don’t listen to us & folk are upset 1/

The Labour Party added 20% VAT to education fees and overseas student numbers drop like a rock… Now they want to attract overseas students to the UK to reverse the decline by subsidising fees. The losers (as always) are UK students and their parents who have to pay the vat on full fees and have to pay interest on student loans while simultaneously paying taxes which will be used to subsidise overseas student places. What a mess…

Why do Libdems always try to con you? "£12.6 mn in annual govt funding cuts" What do they want you to think that means? A £12.6 mn cut in a year. The £12.6mn is over 3 years. This year the cut is £2.42mn - call it 850 yards of cycle path.

Do I think there are some in the council (elected and unelected) that would deliberately divert resources to push ahead with works because they knew the park decision was dodgy? The aim being to get in a position where there no turning back? Absolutely. Yes.

Do I think the above is true? Yes to how the damage was caused, but the cost seems mindblowing. Maybe those behind the project should say what is happening, they have a couple of mn from us in the project and @bathnes is very obviously not asking what happened to it.
