Tonight brings back memories of listening to Bernie Quinlan and Barry Round winning the Brownlow on my clock radio trying to pick up a Victorian station. Can't tell you what one person was wearing, just who the players in contention were!! 1/2

2/2 Now 80% of the lead up is about which WAG is wearing what!!! If it wasn't for the "red carpet" the whole thing would be over in 90 minutes, and everyone would be at the pub.

30 years today since the Brisbane Bears lost to North Melbourne in the Preliminary Final at the MCG in their 220th and final AFL game, finishing with a 31.8% win percentage (70/148/2) across their 10 year life span, with 1 Brownlow and 1 reserves Premiership.

That had to be 50!!!! Gutless call

Hypothetical question for start of September (hopefully hypothetical) For all of those AFL supporters who argue each year that every player who has played a game should get a Premiership Medal, not just the 23 who play in the grand Final. 1/2

2/2 If Carlton were to somehow win 4 more games and be crowned Premiers for 2026, would you argue that there should be 2 Jock McHale Medals awarded, to Josh Fraser and Michael Voss?? #AFL #Carlton

And now Eeyore is gone as well 😭😭
Rest in Peace, Peter Cullen 🕊️

Has been amazing and emotional to sit all day and have timeline full of Dolly tributes and stories. Until Australian normality returns and we are back to AA ommissions and annoying WAG podcasts trying to stay relevant #RIPDOLLY
You have to watch every second of this to fully appreciate it. Genuinely one of the best tributes to Dolly Parton ever.

It was revealed that Dolly Parton was secretly battling cancer but she didn't say anything and instead released this song as one of her last to raise funds for children with cancer. Even while she was sick she was still thinking about others. I’m absolutely devastated.

All those people complaining about not being able to watch Saturday afternoon football on FTA, at least you are being spared the GC Salmons jumpers against the Carrara Koalas!!! #AFLlionssuns

Could be a very interesting ladder for the @BBL by tomorrow night. 4 games this weekend, if we see wins to Heat and Renegades today, and @HurricanesBBL and @StrikersBBL tomorrow, 2nd to 7th will all be on 8 points, divided by NRR

The industry lost a man today that redefined what success could look like in Pro Wrestling. This post is to acknowledge Hulk Hogan's contributions to the industry, which are difficult to put into adequate words. Terry Bollea made personal choices that earned him understandable criticism, but I'm not here to weigh in on that. As someone who has put food on the table from pro wrestling for twenty years, I believe it is necessary to take a moment to recognize the importance of Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania to our business. He pulled the wagon and brought a ton of people with him. Brought wrestling into the cable TV era, changed the game for the way performers could monetize their talent. Put simply, he showed us what was possible. Also, he represents my childhood, and millions of others. That deserves recognition. RIP Hulk Hogan.

RIP Val Kilmer, 65. Played so many great roles but for me, he will always be Iceman. The way Tom Cruise got him back for the Top Gun sequel, knowing how ill he was, was incredibly poignant and brought a tear to my eye in the cinema.

I still remember hearing people in the theater cry during this moment between Val Kilmer & Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. I’m so incredibly thankful Cruise insisted on this scene because this moment is forever. RIP, Iceman.
