Fun fact - Years ago a guy didnt believe that my drawings were one line so he wrote code to re-trace my linework.
It turned out to be one of my favorite accidental collaborations.

it's cass reviews all the way down.
reports and studies don't exist to be read and understood, they don't exist to inform, they exist to be bludgeons to force through whatever a given legislator's pet issue is.
Replying to @lextorias
Here’s a good example: I recently found this NHS article that claimed “strangulation is the second-highest cause of stroke in women under 40”
No source
I look it up, the Institute For Addressing Strangulation makes the same claim
One source. I read it

One common topic we've seen is speculation about this Elder Scroll, particularly its blue gem. The theory that immediately comes to mind is that it is a connection to the Reclusive Princess, Mnemoli the Blue Star. Mnemoli is a Magne Ge and a daughter of Magnus and/or Sotha Sil, and created Mehrunes Dagon.
She is associated with "un-time" events, and it is said that she was visible even in the daytime sky during the Dragon Break. She is linked to endless possibility, rewritten narratives, and the Prisoner Unbound.
Perhaps most importantly, she is the keeper of the Elder Scrolls.

Ironically enaugh Dungeon meshi has way more racist characters then most pieces of media and even in the main cast they stereotype one another frequently but it never gains a Chud Audience like frieren did

It's appeared in other boss themes but, genuinely, putting "Dearly Beloved" in "Vector to the heavens" when it already was a even more tragic reprise of "Musique pour la tristesse de Xion" is such a cruel gut punch

In Fahrenheit 451, the chief book-burner, Captain Beatty, describes how reading became obsolete because the public demanded increasingly fast-paced entertainments, and those entertainments slowly corroded their ability to think. “Books cut shorter. Condensations. Digests, tabloids. Everything boils down to the gag, the snap ending. Classics cut to fit fifteen-minute radio shows, then cut again to fill a two-minute book column … Many were those whose sole knowledge of Hamlet was a one-page digest in a book that claimed, ‘Now at last you can read all the classics.’ … School is shortened, discipline relaxed, philosophies, histories, languages dropped, English and spelling gradually neglected, finally almost completely ignored. Life is immediate, the job counts, pleasure lies all about after work. Why learn anything save pressing buttons, pulling switches?”
In this passage Ray Bradbury foretells the intellectual hollowing out of the working class, the advent of AI-generated “summaries” of classic novels, the attention-frying culture of short-form video, the relaxation of educational standards into non-existence. All of this in a book published in 1953.

The reason for this is simply the boomer-centric view of british culutre.
british video-games, techno, warhammer etc are all still 'juvenile' coded to the pensioner class despite being massive money-makers and cultural juggernauts.
